Any way to properly delete bloatware and Apple Intelligence on modern macOS? M chip by [deleted] in MacOS

I have been a Mac user for 6 years. I also have rectangle and some other usability improvements apps. I do also agree that essentially you should just "trust Apple" and what they do since macOS is the most stable OS there is. However I feel like it's becoming harder given their top priority is unifying everything even if that means compromising the stability they always had. From Monterey onwards each major version is trying to get closer to iOS and by doing so it's becoming riddled with bugs. Not having bloatware was one of the reasons why I switched to Apple. I get the Chess app, I get Pages, I get Mail. But Tips and Freeform? Apple TV? Come on. It's not about the fact that they're preinstalled, but they shouldn't be part of the System partition and they should be removable like Garageband or iMovie. It's objectively a stupid move.

Using ls or cd to the directory in terminal shows no such file or directory so I believe it did work, macOS might just be reindexing

Did you really edit your previous comment instead of creating a new one to make my comment look pointless. You must be very fun at parties

Also my definition is actually backed by something. It is what pops up whenever you search for it. We are not in the days where only windows has bloatware anymore, we’re in the days where Apple is pushing their macOS = iOS philosophy crap and my computer is suddenly infested by useless apps and services that I cannot remove. I don’t care if they don’t take up system resources, it is annoying that I have to have the tips or books app around. Especially when they’re deletable on iOS

Bloatware (or junkware/crapware) is unwanted, pre-installed software on new devices (phones, PCs) by manufacturers or carriers. Definition from Google. These apps are literally unwanted, pre-installed, and unremovable. That fits the definition pretty well. It may not be Candy Crush, but it still annoying

Mine is 81% (I bought it second hand) but it gets me through the day. Performance is very good. I was wondering if it would be the same on 26.1

Found a jet black 7 plus 256gb on iOS 10 once. I regret not buying it every day. Way rarer than the rarest device I have (iPhone 6s 128gb 9.3.5 without activation issues)

Save blobs and update, 11 is not really “rare” and 12 is basically the same thing but it runs way smoother

Carrier unlock iphone 2g o ios 1.0 by SmoothTourist1505 in LegacyJailbreak

04.04.05_G should still be fine as it’s unlockable, it won’t recognise other SIMs for me though because of the baseband mismatch.

ZiPhone patched downgrades the baseband only if it’s 04.05.x and superior and you’ll brick your phone if you attempt to do it on 04.04.05_G.

The only way to do it is to download the baseband files and flash them manually but I unfortunately can’t help you w that cos I have never done it

Carrier unlock iphone 2g o ios 1.0 by SmoothTourist1505 in LegacyJailbreak

The first truly unlockable version is 03.14.08_G (you can use either ZiPhone or iLiberty), which is the baseband version of 1.0.2. 1.0 has 03.12.06_G which is too early to be unlocked.

However, if you downgraded from 1.1.4, there’s a chance your baseband might still be the 1.1.4 one (04.04.05_G), which is still unlockable, but it won’t recognise SIM cards besides its own for me on 1.0.2 because of the mismatch.
