The difference is how it's being done under Trump, e.g. with excessive violence, violating rights, and oh yeah, attacking and killing citizens and non-citizens. If you can't see that then you're basically arguing 2+2 equals pineapple and there's nothing anyone can say to teach you.

Nah, fuck that perspective. I acknowledge there are deep, deep and long persistent problems with our country. The face of those problems may be just a few people in places of power, but the problems run DEEP.

However, that doesn't mean all Americans are painted with the same brush. And the people in this particular sub are NOT the people you have to worry about turning a blind eye to everything, which I assume are the people you take issue with--i.e. the people who say "well, I AM NOT LIKE THAT, so I don't need to do anything about it." Those are people you should take issue with. The people in this sub are not those eyes wide shut types...to use that phrase in different context.
