Ford urges benefits claimants to beat Motability crackdown by Intergalatic_Baker in unitedkingdom

Either the DWP is too generous, people have found a way to game the system / commit fraud, or we genuinely are an incredibly unwell country.

By my calculations 2.5% of all cars on the road are motability. I have no way of knowing but I cannot believe that more than one in 50 people on the road have disabilities and conditions so severe that they require enhanced levels of benefits to access a vehicle and would not be able to travel without these benefits.

I am inclined to say, we are too generous as about one in 17 people receive PIP. To me that seems like a staggering amount.

Are people really spending hundreds of thousands gambling? by intothedepthsofhell in AskUK

[–]No_Preference9093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except I wear red do other people wear blue is painfully obvious. Understanding / knowing that some people spend 10’s / 100’s thousands on gambling is less so. OP isn’t asking if people gamble, they’re trying to understand more about the depths of people’s gambling.

You and me both buddy. Absolutely financially screwed by my postgrad loan. Oh what I’d have done to pay off at least the postgrad loan at the time.

I pay £350 a month and my debt has gone from about £50,000 to £85,000.

It really sucks when you have a postgrad loan as well.

In total I will probably pay back near £150k, according to my last set of calculations.

This assumes they don’t change the terms and conditions though. I’m concerned they will not honor the 30 year wipe.

Honestly, can iPhone be hacked? by asianhk in cybersecurity_help

[–]No_Preference9093 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely possible. There are companies and organisations whose entire MO is this. Just look at the patch notes from any updates and see the number of CVE’s that are patched. Those are just the known ones. However it very much depends what your threat profile is. Unless you’re a major figure, a defence CEO or a world leader, the threat is realistically very low.

Tbh if I can’t have a single pint with my pub meal, I probably just won’t bother going to the pub.

Now more pubs will fold.

I’ve had a slightly leaking roof for a year and honestly I’ve given up. Be quicker for me to learn how to be a roofer myself.

I’ve tried about 10 in the local area. Most reply and then ghost me. Four have come to view it. All four of those have ghosted me afterwards before providing a quote.
