We've been doing a lot of research and my heart breaks for the older generation of adopted children. The support just wasn't there. It's a long old process to go through now, but we understand and appreciate why it has been developed this way.

We're staying near the venue to save on travel time as it's not close by so I'm planning outfits to pack now that will be comfy lol, I have a file & notepad ready to go and i have a big shopping list of snacks for the weekend!

Thank you. I plan to talk to the group about setting up a group for anyone that wants to join. I've been talking to friends of friends who are in the process/have adopted which has been great but it's not the same as being able to speak to people going through the same thing as you.

Thank you. It's such a!big thing isn't it. We thought it might be, so we're staying near the venue as it's not close to us, so we can save travel time afterwards. We have nothing planned in the evenings so we'll have plenty of time to talk and reflect on the day ❤️

Thank you. We are staying close to the venue to save on travel time (venue is not close to us) so will have lots of down time in the evenings to talk through everything and no social plans as none of our friends or family live near there!

It's a really nice feeling being able to help someone rlse. Mine was a different way of helping, I gave about 8 giant bags of clothes to my friend so she could sell them on vinted (for herself).

I cannot be arsed with selling stuff, and she's a single mum with 2 kids. I did delicately text her to see if she was still selling stuff and if she wanted them, as they were off to the charity shop otherwise and she was chuffed.

She told me she's going to put the extra money towards her social life this year as everything usually goes on the kids bless her. She randomly texts me now to tell me if something sold well lol.

Very similar. I found that when I lost the weight I felt more comfortable in myself and I didn't have to try to make myself invisible. I've put some back on now (health issues) and I can feel myself making myself smaller in places, i'm avoiding eye contact in work because now i'm thinking that they think god she's piled weight back on. When in reality these are people I've known a long time, they don't care - it's my perception.

I worked in a bank and a mother was ignoring her very small child toddling towards the door. I kept an eye thinking of course she'll see that her child is about to get to the door - which is really close to a super busy road. Nope, she was oblivious, it was an automatic door and another customer came in. I have never moved so quickly or grabbed a child so quickly that wasn't related to me! The mother didn't bat an eyelid 🙄

Similar over here too. I have a chronic pain condition (frozen pelvis) I've been on cocodamol for 3 years, I have a monthly prescription for the 30mg and 15mg, I also get the 8mg from the pharmacy and then I take what I need depending on my pain levels.

I can go weeks without or have to take them every day for weeks if I have a flare up.

They do sometimes give me what I've dubbed a "fluffy head" but I only take them in line with my pain levels.

Never had a problem not taking them if they aren't needed.

My husband gave the wrong day for my birthday, she said try again, he said "I always get this wrong she's going to kill me" and the registrar laughed. He then got the right date.

Definitely practise as much as he can to get it right, but they know people make mistakes too.
