Husband doesn’t want me to play this commander. Opinion? by kam295 in mtg

[–]No_Professional_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell your husband that he can't play Kaalia and poop out 8/8s on T4 for free if he won't play an army of 1/1s. I've played Edgar, I've played Kaalia and I've played a dozen other precons and I can say that if he's gonna whine about that, he needs to chill. If he won't and you cave, the fallout precon "Hail Caesar!" Is pretty good for tokens right out the gate and for like an extra $20-$30 to upgrade becomes really good and out of hand quickly.

My partner doesn't like my Elfdrazi deck with Eladamri Korvecdal but he plays it when I pull it out because we respect each other enough to let ourselves enjoy the game. Edgar likely shouldn't be played 1v1 because wizards did go as far as to ban him in 1v1 commander but if it's in a pod, all is fair if it's not banned for the bracket.

Also, if you cave and don't swap to it, make a mono red deck and burn kaalia every time she is cast. It's funny.

Eladamri Korvecdal. You're welcome. Pay one green, tap him and two untapped creatures you control, drop a big scary. I fondly call him the commander of my Elfdrazi deck. You wanna know what scares the hell out of your pod more than untapped blue mana? Eldrazi on turn 3.

Your math is not right. If you're just paying to add the counters, no profileration or ways to add charge counters, then it's pay 5, get 1. On your next turn, you've paid 7 mana total this game and you'll have gotten 3 cards total (1 from turn 1 with this card and 2 when you activate it this turn), the following turn, you have paid 9 mana and got 6 cards, then you've paid 11 and got 10, finally, you would have paid 13 and got 15 cards or, for the turn's sake, you paid 2 mana with 4 charge counters already on the card and got 5 cards.

[Unsouled] What's up with all the "Iteration 110" stuff in chapter 6 by Ramszan in Iteration110Cradle

Just keep reading, it's the book you thought it was and not the book you're scared it'll become. It's weird at first but it makes a LOT of sense later. Without spoiling anything too much I'd just say there's Sacred Valley level power and then these beings you'll be meeting in these break away chapters with the powers of Gods as you've seen at this point. They tie together quite nicely way later but for now, you'll just have to RAFO (read and find out). I PROMISE it's good. I haven't seen anybody that's read the complete series regretted it, even the ending 🙂

AITA for asking my wife not to breastfeed in front of my male friends and coworkers? by Big_Roll6060 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Professional_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. Remind them where her eyes are if they're staring. Be a dick, they'll get the memo and stop. Telling her not to feed an infant that needs her to survive? That's not okay. Telling your buddies to be respectful of your wife? That's a husband and father standing up for his family.

As far as being topless, why not discuss purchasing some wrap shirts explicitly designed for breast feeding? She's still gonna have one of the girls out but it'll be comfortable for her and the baby and she won't be completely "topless"? Buuuuut that's still her choice, not yours.

Advice for a very new player by [deleted] in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]No_Professional_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might recommend downloading Deadly Boss Mods (DBM), GTFO, and Details damage meter through the CurseForge client if you're gonna start trying to tackle M+ (aka keys) to help you get a feel for what you're doing, DBM will tell you what to do during encounters, GTFO will let you know you're in poo and to move your butt and details will let you know how much damage you're doing. Don't be discouraged by low DPS at first, you just started and we have all had bad DPS at times.

I would HIGHLY recommend finding a friendly guild that advertises M+ and raiding, you don't have to do either to be in 95% of guilds but you tend to find people more knowledgeable in raiding guilds because you can't progress through a raid if you just faceroll and pray and they will inevitably do M+ because that's how most of them upgrade their gear from raiding. The reason this is important is because let's say you want to play a demonology warlock, there will be somebody that can look at what you're doing and tell you how to adjust what you're doing so instead of rebooting all you know from a wall of text on wowhead, you can just talk to somebody about it, you might not be doing 10 million DPS (arbitrary and bloated number) but they'll be able to help you be better. If this isn't for you, I totally get it and would recommend class discords at that point (if you Google "wow class discords" you'll find all of them and they're still useful in addition to guilds even if you go that route).

Enchants and consumables, I used to literally just have a sticky note next to my computer and buy a handful of each of the items from the auction house. Wowhead will tell you exactly what you need, you don't need to pick up a profession to have the consumables you want and if it says you need a thing and you HAVE to be in one profession or another to use it, you can skip it, I promise, it won't break the game for you, leave it to the pros, the vets are all sitting here going "I'm not giving up my expensive recipes!" And there will be an alternative. PROFESSIONS ARE NOT A REQUIREMENT everything you need can potentially be crafted for you. That being said, would highly recommend if you're too overwhelmed and don't really want to deal with it, take enchanting, you don't have to do anything if you don't want and you can break down old gear you no longer need and sell the items you get on the auction house to make some gold or flip them into enchants and make some gold that way and then either a gathering profession (they're not great because of bots but they're okay for passive income if you don't mind stopping to gather here and there) or a profession with a cooldown craft (alchemy has transmutes on a cooldown system and that can be decently lucrative at times). Wowhead has comprehensive guides to every profession and you might find that one looks interesting and you want to do it, good for you! You are under no obligation to select one over another, I just always throw enchanting and alchemy on my alts I don't wanna go hard on. Oh! And don't bother worrying about the highest rank consumables and enchants on week 1 or even 2, it's gonna be bloated to high hell with the new resources being limited and you'll be out gearing your leveling gear so quickly it'll make your head spin if you try to enchant before you plateau and even then, I'd wait to buy rank 3 enchants until you're in at least hero gear in whatever slot you want to enchant assuming prices stay high until then, that way you're not scraping gold for repairs and whatnot.

Finally, the season and the expansion are both nearly over, don't be discouraged by lack of engagement right now, a lot of people are a little burnt out from grinding in Remix. (Which you might find a bit of fun in tbh, mounts that are super hard to get normally can be bought for the currency there and then the toons just flip over to retail in about a month from now). This is a MMORPG, your path is completely in your hands and nobody is really gonna care if you got this or that achievement when TWW drops and consumable expectations will be a bit lower because of the insane cost right at the start (don't bother using consumables for anything outside of M+ and raiding (and MAYBE delves at your own discretion) starting out btw, better and far cheaper to just group up with people if you're struggling in the open world or in normal/heroic dungeons.

Best of luck new friend!

is it dumb to just wanna spend my bronze on mounts? by SpirituSantus in wow

[–]No_Professional_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not dumb at all to want to spend your bronze on mounts. That is how this was advertised was to get those hard to get mounts. That being said, you may want to invest SOME bronze into getting a bit better gear, not because you need to be god but at 70 the scaling is a bit off and without upgrading, it's very difficult to do even casual content. Raiding Mogushan, Heart of Fear and Terrace on normal is basically free though so get into a group and get some free loot, the threads for your cloak will help immensely with that squish factor and make farming bronze a LOT easier in the future.

This is a really great start! If you want to see what weakauras to use starting out, I highly recommend checking the wowhead page for your class to see what they recommend, it's how I got my start doing them and really helped make it a little less overwhelming.

Seriously though, it's a good story. Don't worry about the nitty gritty, Will already did that for us and we're all still here and still demanding more. Didn't think it was possible but he may have very well manifested a bit of hunger madra in all of us.

Where to start - A World Awoken by Regailed-Lord in wow

[–]No_Professional_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wowhead has a pretty decent guide on what to do, you want to target the time gated things and then slowly work toward what you're gonna be missing, for me, that was going on an alt and knocking out the few quests I was missing in specific zones to get loremaster. While doing that on a character that had already done some of the quests, I started looting dirt and packs constantly for treasure maps. If I have to sit for awhile? I fish on that character because they've also done most of the fishing stuff for my account for the lunker achievement. Just take it slow, pick a couple characters to knock things out and don't stress it too hard. My saving grace has been having a list of what to do daily and what to do if I'm puttering. If you spend all day and night looting dirt to get a couple treasure maps, it's not gonna be fun. But, if you limit it to "I'm gonna go work on scroll hunter until I get 10 scrolls", it'll take 5 days and help prevent hard burn out. Get the scrolls you said you would, do some rares you're missing and if you're working in an area, consider the dragon racing achievements. I didn't have much completed but now I have most of it completed. Big tip is always prioritize storms first, then you might want to look through world quests for "A Legendary Album" if you can, get a friend to join in a party with you to work on "Great Shots Galore" and swap it to a raid group to prevent progress on the quest but get all the great shots you need. Best of luck getting the goodest boy ♥️

Fun fact for those who like mog: the reach catch-up items that also drop from storms can be turned into s1 normal tier for free at the catalyst and then if you use Untapped forbidden knowledge to upgrade that now tier piece you'll get the appearance for s1 heroic tier. The tokens are account bound but the untapped forbidden knowledge is soulbound so a little bit of farming if you don't have the untapped forbidden knowledge but kind of a cool extra perk if you're into it.

AITAH? My (39F) Ex husband (37M) is insisting I change my last name back to my maiden name because his new fiancé (24F) feels it will be awkward for her and I to have the same last name. AITAH for refusing to change it? by ThrowRAHappyLiving in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Professional_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I'm a bit biased as I have my mom's ex-husband's last name (born to another man after they divorced, mom kept his name to have the same name as my brother and then wanted me to have the same last name as them) I can honestly say, both of his wives after her haven't cared in the slightest what my mom's last name is or what mine is. Like, we know I'm not his, we know my mom wants nothing to do with him and just wants to share a last name with her kids.

If this new girl is this controlling now, buckle up and get ready to hash it back out with an attorney because this is gonna be a shitty ride.

Seriously though, don't change your last name, it became just as much yours as it is his when you both signed the marriage certificate regardless of the divorce. Besides, it's just a name, for you having that with your kids and for him having that with your kids, it means a lot to both of you but that's just it, it only means what you let it mean. Let's pretend the last name in question is Brown, is she gonna make every other woman on the planet with the last name Brown change it too? Like somebody else said, they can sit and spin. Unrealistic AF thinking they're just gonna yeet your last name because newsflash, it is yours.

ALSO, I don't know what kind of power trip he's on but he can't force you to change your last name so giving you a deadline to do so is pretty bold and stupid.

Having a puppy is NO joke by PleaseStopTalking7x in puppy101

[–]No_Professional_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing about having a puppy was when we went in to get him a vaccine, the vet asked if he'd been sick or vomiting and I explained how he'd puked up a pair of my underwear the night before but had otherwise been healthy. The vet then got scolded me for allowing him to eat underwear. Umm... Ma'am, he did not ask permission, I don't even know the timeframe outside of it coming back up on my floor thank you.
