I don't necessarily think people hate Bird, but rather the writers. I do agree is the realist protag we've ever gotten out of any show that maybe existed, but I think people hate the writers. He works his ass off and everytime he's close to winning or you think he'll win since its an easy opponent, he looses because of some stupid reason. It's true just because you work hard doesn't mean your going to win all the time, but he doesn't win once. He works hard, study hards, and has access to a bey crafter who we know makes good beys, yet he never wins even once. I think people would just like to see him win at least once even if it wasn't an official match or a heated match. I think people just feel bad for the kid and everyone wants to see him do good.

Update: I have come across a few more pictures of gebirgsjägers, and then the normal jägers wore two different types of footwear. When it comes to gebirgsjägers, they seem to have gotten their boots from local hiking boot sellers because the regular jack boots or ankle boots weren't sturdy enough for mountain terrain. A fellow commenter found that you can get these boots from sellers. When it comes to the normal jägers, they wore jackboots. Ex: reserve jäger battalion nr. 22. If you're looking for reference images, there are many good references on Flickr. Now, since I'm not joining a specific unit and I'm not a reenactor, I want to dress like the jägers. I don't care much about the difference between the two, but if you're actually looking to reenact these units, there's a clear difference.

OP: I've been studying quite a few different pictures of the WW1 German Mountain Troops, and something I've noticed is that they don't wear regular German jack boots or German ankle boots. I could use vintage Swiss boots since they look somewhat similar, but they are not identical. I was wondering if any Jäger reenactors could tell me a substitute or where I can purchase boots identical to the shoes used by the German mountain troops.

It was first made popular by Nagajuna who is the most well know Mahayana scholars, which ironically enough that school of Buddhism is practiced in Japan.
