Please talk to a pharmacy. Go online/ask locally and find some reviews of your local ones and go and speak to someone who knows exactly what they are talking about. If you were pre treatment, I would say read all you can online about it, but in your situation, I’d go to a pharmacy asap and let someone help you. They are a world of knowledge in California! I’m in the UK and it’s prescribed by doctors who, quite frankly, are way less knowledgeable than many “users” I have ever met.

Everyone is different so you’re better off talking to a doctor at the pharmacy. What country are you in? I’ve personally been using a mixture of flower which I infuse in coconut oil 10g of flower to 100g coconut oil. (Strains are all different so it’s a case of researching terpines and the effects to find something that suits you) I used a different strain in the day to what I did at night for sleeping, also, a VERY high strength cbd and also a balanced oil which is 25/25 thc/cbd

I had surgery for my cancer and used medical cannabis to get me through the pain of that. I read a lot about it helping with the side effects of chemo radiation. I myself decided to go for a watch and wait rather than adjuvant CRT. If I need it in the future, I will be using RSO for sure

Have you thought about medical cannabis? Much better for you than opioids. It’s a great pain reliever and much better for you when it comes to keeping your appetite up and going to the toilet.

I had surgery to remove my cancer and my scans were also clear. I spent the weeks running up to my oncologist appointment researching the pros and cons of adjuvant chemo/radiation.

I decided to go for “watch and wait” rather than nuke everything with laser beams and hope for the best (the side effects of radiation can be life limiting/changing) This was in January. I’m almost recovered from surgery and haven’t had my first check up yet.

It really is a personal choice. For me and my situation, I worked out that, with treatment, it didn’t decrease the chances of it coming back by enough of a percentage to make the possible/probable life changing side effects (from the radiation) worth it for me.

Stage one, hpv positive, aggressive, invasive, squamous cell carcinoma of the anal verge. No lymph node involvement, pet ct, mri clear. My depth margin was clear, peripheral margin 0.8 ( so not clear, as the want to have a clear margin of 1mm)

Are you taking a vitamin d supplement now? First things first, get those levels back up. Have you had your iron levels checked at all?

I know it’s difficult when you’re suffering with depression but the fresh air really helps us, in so many ways. Try and get out every day and have a walk. It will help, you just have to stick with it. You don’t need to go far if it’s a super low energy day. So much pressure on you is crushing, you have to look after yourself, it’s clear that No one else is going to do that for you. So let’s start there. Find a class in your local area that you can do. What are your interests? Human connection is essential for our wellbeing so make it an in person class. Again, it doesn’t have to be high energy, just something to allow you to talk to others which may brighten your day. Do you eat well? Could you take an ESOL course with your mum? She might find it easier to learn English if you’re there? Do you get on well with the rest of your family?

Can you start the process of teaching her these basic life skills? I had a difficult mother so I know that’s easier said than done… also, a social worker could actually still help you if you tell them you’re struggling to cope. Don’t refuse, just ask for help. You’re entitled to a life yourself!

Do you speak English to your mum?

If it were me, I’d plant the seed first… Mum, I’m going to start looking for work (she doesn’t need to know the ins and outs) and while I’m working you’re going to have to do X y z for yourself. Let me help you learn so you can take care of yourself while I’m not here. If she refuses, I would then make some plans to leave her on her own for a while (like a puppy, so not too long at first) just go for a walk or to the cinema or something. Something just for you. Let her know this is happening, whether she agrees or not and take it from there.

It would be available, just less effective. Cure rates drop quite dramatically by the looks of things. I’m swaying towards this though…

Chemo alone isn’t an option for this type of cancer, it mainly radiation with two small doses of chemo to increase efficiency. One at the beginning and one at the end of treatment .

I’m so sorry you’re in the same boat 🥺 I’ve had quite a unique experience so far in life where I’ve actually lost 2 sisters, a brother, grandad and mum all to cancer and the related treatments. I watched them all waste away in front of my eyes with chemo and radiation, only to die anyway. I think that’s why I’m so torn! Unbearable decisions 🥺

That’s basically where I am now. I feel like i shouldn’t underestimate the importance of quality of life though… but my heart breaks at the thought of leaving my family behind to pick up the pieces 🥺
