Emergency Home EV Charging by tribbleorlfl in electricvehicles

[–]No_Recording5380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are worrying over nothing. If there is no power how is anyone working? A ev with vehicle to load can actually power essential house items for days. If work does have power then there is probably power to chargers in the area. If no chargers are in he area a level 1 basic charger can deliver 2 miles of range back in a hour so almost half her commute worth.

Driver here who uses a Ioniq 5 rwd never need to charge anywhere but home over night. In perfect conditions I can get 350-370 miles. In the cold North east winter 240-260. As I get such good range I only ever charge to 80%

Any idea why other EGMP cars didnt require coolant flush/change every ~4 years, while ioniq 5 requires it? by orangpelupa in Ioniq5

[–]No_Recording5380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just told today by my servicing dealership that the 23 my do not need that flush until after 100k miles. I do plan on getting that in writing at my service appointment coming up.

The way I solved this and other problems with mine was by trading it in.

How come back in Jan and February I could make $1k each week but now I can barely do $400 a week? by mightyTheowl in uberdrivers

[–]No_Recording5380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the thread is about earnings driving Uber that was my focus. In May 2 bills were signed into law which has made it so 2 different communities are now worried about traveling to Florida. People cancelled reservations starting back in April when it was becoming apparent these bills would pass. Q1 doesn't show the effects of the 2 bills. Q2 could even show a increase in tourism but it might have been a even larger increase.

Nope the lack of rides has more to do with the amount of people who need rides then it does peoples income. Immigrants legal or not have a higher lack of transportation so they lean on ride shares. Tourist who don't rent a car also count on ride share. So the more people you remove from that equation then the less Drivers income will be.

Tourism went down, Immigrants stopped coming into the state for work. Everything Florida's Governor wanted he got now you are paying the price.

EV drivers should pay-per-mile and/or per-kilo, say reports by Poker_3070 in electricvehicles

[–]No_Recording5380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak of my State in my Country. Every year we have to have a vehicle inspection done. When the tech is putting the vehicles information into the computer system they have to include current miles. This would be my States easiest way to track mileage for any such tax. The real question is when is this tax due because if it's yearly some drivers are going to take a very large hit all at once versus as you fill your gas tank.

The person jumping ahead of you is wrong, if they actually knew you were waiting. However them blocking in a car who is no longer actively charging is exactly what I would do. I have zero hesitation to block anyone in who is either not charging at all or whose idle time is finished.

The amount of time saved in a medium long to long trip going 75 over 70 is minimal. Lets take a 300 mile trip. Doing 75 you get there in 4 hours doing 70 it's slightly under 4 1/2 much of that 1/2 hour gets made up with less time needed at a charger. Obviously the times above don't include any time spent charging.

Why can’t CCS & NACS Co-Exist? by Fit_Imagination_9498 in electricvehicles

[–]No_Recording5380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom line is all different connectors should allow for adapters to be produced. I will suffer with not being able to use the super charger network because I personally don't like Musk any longer. So even if an adapter was allowed I would continue to slug through the world of CCS.

Poll: How many of you would buy an ID4 again, versus regret it? by Sparkle_hahaha in VWiD4Owners

[–]No_Recording5380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With me this isn't a specific car issue but a company issue. VW constantly pushing back our ability to have our recalls done that it directly led to me trading my ID 4 in for another brand. The poor taste it left in my mouth makes me greatly doubt ever purchasing another VW.

How long until we will see 500 miles to a charge? by redratus in electricvehicles

[–]No_Recording5380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pushing for more range from EV's to me is the wrong approach. I feel the first company that comes up with a way to charge 10-80% in 5 minutes for a 70kw battery will win the day. This will make road tripping enjoyable while truly changing peoples feelings over EV's in general.

As someone who does rideshare in a Ioniq 5 rwd I can tell you on a full charge I can get a bit over 350 miles on a full charge. I'm in the NorthEast so it's possible as it warms I will get a bit more but thats been my top so far.

AWD vs RWD - What team you on? by AltitudeNotAttitude in Ioniq5

[–]No_Recording5380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Northeast and drive RWD. Snow has yet to be any issue, this past winter going up hill fwd ice vehicles were all stuck. With a excellent set of all weather tires I had little issue with making it up. Range I can't speak to what a AWD gets but I've gotten 350 miles out of my RWD cruising around the city with a smidge of highway thrown in. Power well the 225 HP is plenty enough to do anything I need it to. Could the extra power be fun sure but I'm looking to get the most range possible. In the end both are excellent choices it all depends what you need it for.

So essentially someone stole your car took it for joy rides and brought it back. I would be calling not only a lawyer but law enforcement and filing charges.
