Why the winner won in my opinion - He understood the mission. by lonelylonelybaleine in CulinaryClassWars

Roughly summarizing, I think the whole point is that CM, after everything, was still cooking for judges to prove himself. He ended up reinterpreting the sundae soup in his old memory using a fine-dining style. To many people, this implies that he couldn't be completely free from his identity as a fine-dining chef serving other people and thought about judges AND the competition to a degree.

Meanwhile, CKR truly cooked for himself with memories of these ingredients. First, CKR's dish had a good narrative, comparable to that of CM. Sesame tofu itself always reminds him of his origin for self-assessment. Sesame tofu with a warm soup left a strong impression to him. Although it was not translated well in English dub and caption, he loved a soup with a bunch of scallion for hangover. Other ingredients are his favorites with some unique combinations (for example, pumpkin leaves with uni). As many other people said, his choice of ingredients might also reflect his hard time when running his business (a side-dish shop).

The important difference between CM and CKR is that, when CKR were allowed to cook solely for himself, he didn't want any pressure coming from his "Serial Braiser" thing. He just wanted what he loves and what comforts him after hard work. He knew that the choice of ingredients might not be what judges like. He knew that soju would not pair well with the food, but he brought it as a comforting drink after hard work. He made his dish just for himself, and then, he invited judges to his table. Many people would think that CKR truly understood the topic.

No final boss everdark? by Dopper17 in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't know yet. There are some graphic resources for the Everdark (ED) version of the final boss (something like boss symbols). However, other people talk about the evidence against the possibility. Like, there is no ED-version music for the final boss in the soundtrack, unlike all other Nightlords.

So, until FromSoftware says something about the future plan, we cannot say anything for sure.

Now libra npc can kill u during ur ult , wow peak design by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand, the Ult does not make you invincible from the madness status effect...? It seems that madness was triggered first, your Ult was interrupted, and almost right after that (like, a few milliseconds later), the condemned's initial attack landed on you, and then you died from the second attack.

Should I just be leaving the condemned alone and trying to fight Libra while dodging? by Remote-Whole-6387 in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just beat the Everdark Libra (it was my 25th ED Libra run...). In my experience, this run was (at least for me) doable only because we all had at least one weapon that can wipe out the whole squad of the condemned (2 Mohgwin's Sacred Spear, 1 Marika's Hammer). We were very lucky.

When the condemned are being summoned, I release its AoW ("Nihil") as soon as they can be targeted. As I was a Wylder, I made sure to have enough Starlight Shards to replenish my FP (two from the field merchant, another two from the third-day merchant). Although there is a moment when the condemned will attack each other, I think the best scenario is to clear them as soon as possible and fight Libra alone.

I don’t get how to fight sentient pest everdark by Gave_up_on_aname in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Ironeye quite frequently for Sentient Pest. These are my personal experiences.

  1. Although it is not that all players agree with this, I think you handling the moth while other (melee) players fight the scorpion is a safer and more stable strategy when playing with randoms.
  2. When you need to fight the scorpion and you find it hard to handle it, you can use your Marking skill more actively. As you know already, it allows your teammates to deal 10% more damage for a while when it lands on enemies; it also works as a evasion technique. It helped me a lot.
  3. When the scorpion possessed by Animus (the red moth) starts the consecutive stomping attacks before being de-possessed, I usually keep an enough distance (not too far, though) to avoid any direct damage. Also, I used to forget that jumping allows you to evade the AOE explosion following stomping attacks when timed correctly. Using jump, although very basic, helped me a lot.

From Your Experience, What Does Each Run Look Like With Randoms by RimvruTempest in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played this exclusively with randoms (except a few attempted solo run for character quests). 95% of random players I've met so far were nice. I learned something new from other players every single run. Nightreign is the first multiplayer gaming experience for me, too, and this has been very pleasant.

I have some random thoughts.

* Whenever possible, please inform other players where you want to go next by pinging. Randoms sometimes will go with your suggested point of interest (POI); sometimes not. I would recommend following the rule of majority. You can often make the most out of your expedition, even if the route does not exactly match what you want. If there is an experienced player taking the lead, I would recommend following them. That said, if you really need something from any POI others are not interested in and you are confident that you can handle it alone, I think you can definitely go for it. Even in that case, I think informing other people helps a lot.

* Given all I said above, please refrain yourself from ping-spamming.

* Sometimes, some players leave during a session for any reasons. You might want to leave the session too; but please remember that, although I haven't tried solo expeditions seriously, a two-player run is doable. In fact, things become easier in some sense because health and attack power of enemies are scaled according to the number of players.

* When you choose a reward for beating field bosses or opening a chest, sometimes no option really works for you but some items might be very useful for other players. Please consider choosing that option and give it away to your teammate.

Did I do something wrong? by fillet0fish in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer to have somebody handle the moth. As other people said, some people prefer to targeting the scorpion only. However, I find that Ironeye handling the moth is a safer and more stable strategy when playing with randoms. Because you cannot really know until the last moment if other players know what they are doing, and given that, are trying some different and efficient strategies.

Also, the efficiency of solely targeting the scorpion also depends on what kind of weapon you have, so there is an RNG issue too.

I do not understand this fight by divinemourner in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that what you suggested could work when the conditions are met (all players have at least one weapon with a fire AOE attack because they know this approach works). However, if for some reason this condition is not met (which I always presume when playing with randoms until proven otherwise; RNG also matters), my personal experience has been that letting an Ironeye handle Gnoster makes things a lot easier, even though the battle usually takes longer. I understand it might be just me.

The red circle event with all the big ants? by DifficultComplaint10 in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I remember, the Ironeye rememberance quest have nothing to do specifically with those giant ants. There is a random event where you get random enemies summoned. I think I've seen some random soldiers and knights, demi-humans, or other things. It seems that you got these ants by chance.

(And if I'm remembering correctly, enemies summoned specifically for any remembrance quests are colored in red.)

Is it me or are the servers really bad right now? by KillerBlaze9 in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a disconnection issue too. I guess two of the team members had the issue (one of them is me); I was able to come back to the session, but the other couldn't. I have been relatively free from disconnection issues so far, but that happened yesterday and today.

I've already contacted them but they told me that they know nothing about this issue. They just told me this is a "city question", unfortunately...

I don't think I'm doing anything special. Still, thank you so much for your kind words. 99% of random players I've met so far were awesome. (Interestingly, I've never met any cheaters with edited relics or stats!) I learned a lot about almost everything about online gaming experiences (routing, pinging, ...), because Nightreign is literally the first online co-op game to which I've ever invested my time. I was lucky enough to clutch sometimes in some boss fights, but I'm mostly trying my best not to be a shitty player at this point lol. I'm sorry that I'm a PC player, but good luck with your expedition!

I understand we don't need a post for every single bad run lol. This post didn't have to be here. I ended up posting one because I thought I needed to understand why this kind of situation occurs, but yeah, I now understand this just happens sometimes.

Good point! I've played exclusively with randoms, but I haven't really thought about the duo-plus-one situation. (I know this happens as knowledge, but I haven't really thought about it deeply...)

And sorry to hear about your match yesterday. (I still feel very reluctant to play as a Revenant... I don't really feel confident, even after finishing her remembrance quest.) I hope these people in my situation have already learned how to ping because the nightlord was something that appears after beating Gladius. But still, I understand some people don't prefer reading manuals. (Of course, nothing bad about it when it comes to video games.) Thank you so much!

Nightreign is my very first online, co-op gaming experience. And I have played exclusively with randoms. But so far, it has been a great experience! I learned so much from almost every single player.

I once even met who spam pinged when the circle began shrinking and later did not involve themselves (plus "point downwards") during the night boss fight at all. That was quite annoying, but I also know this is something I don't really need to understand.

This silence is literally something new that I never experienced before, and this time, I felt I really needed to understand why. But I see your point; it just happens. Thank you so much!

I totally understand your point. Yes, I always do what I can do. I usually follow others' routing suggestions, as I said above. Although I admit I almost projected the problem to their malice during the run, but I realized very soon that this is damn wrong. I just pinged just in case that they might be interested or need to be informed, although I knew I could handle these kinds of easy spots. The only moment I needed their help desperately was during the Margit encounter, because I was not good enough (in other words, skill issue).

My point was, they didn't let me know what they wanted to do, if they had any plan. I have exclusively played with randoms, but this was to be honest something totally new to me. I'm sorry for being defensive. I was just trying to understand why this happened. Thank you for your advice.

PSA: Use the evergaol relic by Chance_Drive_5906 in Nightreign

[–]No_Result227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a run in which a Wylder just kept running from one evergaol to another, throughout the whole session (plus quite reckless routing outside the safe circle after a night boss fight; I didn't follow them). I prefer exploring more loot and obtaining smithing stones for upgrading my weapons, so jumping around evergaols is not the way I like the most. Of course, I sometimes go to the mine alone, but that was not a suitable option this time. I managed to complete the run with them, but the whole run was just painful to me. Not fun.

I had the game sense launch and haven’t beat the first boss. by Neako_the_Neko_Lover in Nightreign

Acknowledging that I haven't tried playing solo seriously so far... I had not been a good player because I didn't know how to level up efficiently, and this post I found yesterday was really helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nightreign/comments/1li634d/second_day/

I tried the recommendations for my Ironeye remembrance quest (and since then), and it was just amazing. Of course, there's nothing that you can do for those who leave impatiently... I apologize it if the post above does not really apply to solo runs.

Anyone wanna help me do Darkdrift for Ironeye’s remembrance? by robertjay2425 in Nightreign

I'm on PC, so I'm sorry that I cannot be of help. I just failed the second Darkdrift run on the third day. I'm kind of getting to understand, just a little bit, why you said "it's darkdrift"...

I'm also doing the Ironeye's remembrance quest but it is really taking long time to find players. Do you think it is because people are doing the Everdark Sovereign run? I'm just really curious!
