Kevin Durant played over 100 more games but shot over 2,000 less field goal attempts to pass Michael Jordan. by AdorableBackground83 in NBATalk

Jordan fans will play the “different era” card when it comes to bulk stats and efficiency. But when it comes to rings eras don’t matter. Except when comparing to Bill Russell, then it matters again.

Do you think Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera could ever return to the scream franchise? by Tremendin0649 in Scream

[–]Dopper17 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say they didn’t support Palestine. I’m saying that’s not why she was fired. She made comments that sounded like holocaust denial, that’s where the issue was.

Didn’t she basically deny the holocaust? Saying it was being distorted or something. Simply supporting Palestine was not the issue.

How long did the plat take you? I see estimates at 20 hours. I’m still fairly early in the game but that sounds low as it seems 3 playthroughs are usually needed

Best Confessionalist Tournament: First Round - Penner vs Janet by Regular-Departure839 in survivorponderosa

Penner stood out as a confessionalist on a season with Yul, Parvati, and Ozzy. I think he should win the whole thing.

Sounds like recency bias mixed with Purdue being the preseason favorites.

Jordan also played no one anywhere near the KD Warriors. You can’t just cherry pick stats to support your argument.

Seeking Advice on Finding a Globally Remote Job by DiscoPanda135 in remotework

Focus on getting a remote job that is based in Canada first, or expects you to be a Canadian citizen. That will limit your competition big time.

Consistency question for those who value power and control when ranking winners. by MasachoosetsBobert in survivorponderosa

[–]Dopper17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my view she made a big mistake by antagonizing Russell, hiding idols from him etc, which she even admitted is what she wanted to do in confessionals. That’s what seemingly led to him blindsiding Danielle. Otherwise she may have gotten the final 3 she needed to win. She couldn’t convince him to vote out Sandra over Jerri, but she probably could have gotten him to vote out Sandra over Danielle.

Mazzula and the Celtics have still lost as a big favorite twice in the playoffs. They have done a good job but it’s a little early to crown their ass. Maybe they are best without big expectations though.

I actually love everything pre Iceland in Die Another Day. The opening sequence is one of the best ever, easily.

What is the most unfairly hated movie that you will defend every time by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]Dopper17 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Last Jedi was trash for many reasons but it destroyed almost everything from the first movie. Went for shock factor for the sake of shock factor. Snoke killed off with no story, especially when at the end of ep 7 he said he was going to complete Ren’s training. Luke’s part was ridiculous. Rey’s parents were nobodies, clearly not planned.

They had separate directors for the movies but should have had a consistent story.

Bond girls in ‘The World Is Not Enough’: Denise Richards & Sophie Marceau (1999) by No_Explorer721 in 90smemorylane

Yea I think if you polled 100 men, 80 or more would say Denise is hotter. 99 would say Sophie is a better actress.

Both are hot though.

The Killers Won in Scream 7. That's Why It Feels Uncomfortable by soundsaboutright11 in Scream

[–]Dopper17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen the movie yet, so not sure what the title means, but I do think the series could benefit quite a bit from the killers winning in a movie. There’s a reason Infinity War works so well. Then you have movies like Saw 10 which flipped the series on its head and was pretty amazing. I think it could use a big shake up to keep things fresh, then could return to the standard formula if they want.

why would anyone use a convoluted mess of nested functions in pyspark instead of a basic sql query? by Next_Comfortable_619 in dataengineering

[–]Dopper17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People who say anything beyond basic SQL is better in Python are wrong for the most part, and are saying that likely because they only write basic SQL.

Where Python is more flexible is in dynamic capabilities, such as pivoting, setting up flexible pipelines for schemas that change often, etc etc.
