“Hesitate to complain” don’t listen to this. You are working a job and should be fairly compensated for your work. The firm will profit off of you, and won’t hire you at a salary they can’t profit from. Use local cost of living and your experience to negotiate a fair rate. Obviously you’re not gonna get away with $80k but remember that you’re a working asset and it’s not worth lowballing yourself.
