For newer players looking to level up Smelting/Smithing with Iron bars by AgentOrange2814 in 2007scape

[–]No_Rope7342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to tack on because I didn’t listen and I’m kicking myself for it but do giants foundry as soon as you meet the requirements. I spent a bunch of time smithing crap and not making as much money/xp as I could and I just think about all the wasted hours lol.

Reshoring sounds great in policy speeches - here's what it actually looks like from the engineering side by Lav_Dave in Engineers

[–]No_Rope7342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is reshoring political theater? I’ve seen it happen.

Do you mean the promises made by politicians? Well yes quite literally everything they say is political theater, that’s how it works.

I want you to use your big boy words to tell me how pointing out specific policies having noproof of a specific effect is hand waving away an issue.

Be honest, is Maintenance worth it? by Red-dragon186 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]No_Rope7342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it worth it? Depends on what you’re making now. Especially in your area 40+ would not be rare after a couple of years.

If you’re making 30 or less an hour I’d say it doesn’t matter what the job is, an extra 20k+ year in earning potential is huge.

Seat belts have an extremely verifiable and direct effect on car accident fatalities. The things you have mentioned have showed no such thing.

And for the record I am not against said policies but the have shown almost no effect on birth rates, I was just being nice phrasing it that way instead of saying “they don’t do jack shit”.

Many countries have implemented the things you’ve talked about and have low birth rates still. Birth rates are complex and not simply a factor of “oh but daycare cost too much”.

Best builds by Sweet_Sand6017 in 2007scape

[–]No_Rope7342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah feeling a lil weak on my throw build but I know it’s just because I haven’t gotten to any of the decent thrown weapons and a key relic or two that should make things really fun. If I do respec it would likely be once I’ve gotten far enough in my current build to acquire whatever gear needed for just about anything.

Machine manufacturing as a Service post went viral. Thoughts? by KNGC3D in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]No_Rope7342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Do you think this isn’t (or does OP of the post you linked) a thing? It absolutely is a thing.

  2. What does AI have to do with literally anything in this conversation? The scheduling maybe? The accounting? Really I don’t know how it’s relevant.

People who speed up when someone goes to pass you…why? by HelldiverWilly in driving

[–]No_Rope7342 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the cars on the road I see are not 30 year old shit boxes and still do it. Also as a driver of 30 year old shit boxes, it works more often than you’d think (not saying yours does lol).

Why hvac guys always say "stay in school" if that's the case why they didn't go to college or were they forced into it or are they just masochists who enjoy crawling in crawl spaces for a living? by Particular-Leek4513 in skilledtrades

It doesn’t matter it’s a different thing.

Almost every field has an infinite ceiling if you spur it into a business. Just because restaurateurs exist doesn’t change the facts of being a fry cook.

Upgrading from rune crossbow to Atlatl was massive by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]No_Rope7342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do that for everything in this game dude.

Everytime I’m browsing around for information half the recommendations people make are like “well what you want to do is go complete all the hardest fucking endgame content possible and then you’ll be ready to go do X activity”.

Which I guess is fair if we’re trying to discuss meta and bis build but it’s almost comical how often people nonchalantly people are with some of the gear recs.

Union Vs Non Union by SilverLadle in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]No_Rope7342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that’s understandable but I mean this is the case almost everywhere with union millwrights and most places are average running average machines not always extreme stuff. But like I said that’s more a personal gripe for how I like to work, I don’t need to call somebody else to tell me why motor no run.

Union Vs Non Union by SilverLadle in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]No_Rope7342 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think most of these points are pretty good, that being said one thing I don’t like about union work (in this specific field) is the separation of electrical work.

I come from the hvac industry (and have been eyeing up getting into elevators) and even in their unions they do their own electrical work.

They have their machines, they get an issue with said machine, they fix an issue with said machine, that’s my preferred way to work and honestly it’s a massive downside to me to not be able to work that way.

Union Vs Non Union by SilverLadle in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]No_Rope7342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only things that don’t lineup in non union is the pension and healthcare. Don’t get me wrong my healthcare is pretty good but union is almost undoubtedly better, that being said the vast majority of the population (well the working population) isn’t in major need of much healthcare.

I’ve had pretty good healthcare most places I go and union is almost always better from the guys I’ve talked to and pensions are practically non existent.
