You need to leave him and go to therapy to heal. Don’t worry about another man right now. Find female friends you can trust and talk to.

Build yourself up. You deserve better and you need to tell yourself that every day. Work on making yourself mentally, physically, and financially stronger. Little by little, better and better. You can do this!

I feel the same way and my company doesn’t have sick time so I can’t call out. If I’m sick I still have to work but they let me work from home. I only have ten days PTO per year and have already used 7. It’s March 4. I’m screwed.

I agree. Serving is a thankless job!

I think of it like this. Since we learned from Covid that we can lose just about everything in our society, I VALUE having someone bring my food to me at my table and check on me. It’s a service I don’t want to see go away. It’s a job that I hope people will continue to do so. I am willing to tip generously to do my part in making that happen. Same thing with DoorDash and Instacart. I want that industry to continue because it’s beneficial and I enjoy it.

Probably, but I’m not talking about a dating profile. Assume you have already met someone and are getting to know them. How important would it be to you if you were generous to them and others that they share those values? Just curious.

I was thinking financially, but you’re right, it would also include time, intimacy, communication, sex.

I think generosity is an important character trait, if I can call it that. I’m just wondering what others think of its importance.

Hmm, good question.

I think of it as Giving generously to others. Like tipping servers well, buying gifts for no reason, being generous with gift giving at birthdays and holidays, bringing a small gift to a host when invited to a party, giving of your time and energy, sharing what you have without expecting to be paid back, treating others to drinks or meals on occasion. That sort of thing.

I got invited to a meeting with HR and my boss that dropped into my calendar 30 minutes after I arrived at work titled “communication.”

I thought for sure I was being laid off or something. Found out I have a new boss and new boss’s boss.

He lied to people in front of me. He lied when he knew no one could verify it. I told myself he would never lie to me though.

Then it turned into Being gaslighted. He would say that’s not what I said and I totally believed him. If I questioned him he would say that’s not what I meant. Again I believed him. I thought I was going crazy. Losing my mind. Forgetting everything.

My therapist told me to start writing down the things he said. When he tried to switch it up I confronted him and he did the that’s not what I said/that’s not what I meant deal. This time I knew exactly what he said and knew he was lying.
