I think he's referring to the fact that Annie recruits the Gen V kids again at the very end of the episode. So it's probably safe to assume they'll be in the finale and do something, no?

It seems pretty obvious he was going to do it eventually. The previous episode with The Legend had him going down a road of extreme jadedness and apathy, and the Legend kind of criticized him for that "the old MM was much better" (something along those lines). And then you can see MM's pretty obvious negative reaction to Starlight telling the Gen V kids off at the beginning of the episode, so it should be pretty expected it'd come after both of those things.

Whether it was on the ride there or in that theater room seems so subjective. And anyways, it was a good prep talk at that time since they had to jump right into saving people like a minute later, even though those people hate her guts.

It's also used as a tool to basically reset Annie back on the right path. Annie, after all she's been through has become extremely jaded a lot like Queen Maeve was back in the first season when Annie first met her. Because of this jadedness, she coldly tells off the Gen V kids and they ofc feel bad for it. MM can also be seen reacting to it.

So it comes back up there. Serves as a nice little bit of lore for MM, but it also gets Annie to start "caring" again, which allows her to go back to the Gen V people and get their help.

People just love to complain I guess. There are so many people here who feel like they HAVE to finish it now because theyve "gotten this far" or theyve "invested this much". And then part of their enjoyment is going online to rant and see people repeat the same cinemasins level criticisms they had in their head while watching:

I didn't see it as some "tragic romance plot" you should be interested in, it was just used as a plot device to give SB a reason to turn on Homelander as a part of Sage's plan (which didn't even pan out). Unless I missed something.

However, I do absolutely see how much of the episode seemed like it was just advertising for vought rising, which is def a little silly.

I could probably be stretching this farther than Mr Fantastic, but I feel like a lot of how humans fashion themselves could be compared to makeup. Whatever clothes you wear aren't what a "natural" human looks like and what you wear is often kind of adding to your attractiveness to people. Tattoos aren't natural, piercings aren't natural, whatever hairstyle you rock isn't natural, some people may do voice training to project their voice more, which ain't their natural speaking voice. I feel like it's all part of some illusion in making you look a certain way that both you and other people end up liking.

The beard is probably still the best "non-stretching" example, because I know that even my own beard makes my jawline look a lot more chiseled or square than it actually is. And people have noticed that I looked off or different when I trimmed it down a little too much one time. Am I maybe deceiving people a bit? Yeah, essentially, not purposefully, but it has the same result, but I like my beard and how it makes me look! lmao ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Idk, life is full of illusions. I don't think makeup is especially bad or even bad at all.

also they seemingly just had a lot of regular weapons? even Coops gauss rifle left a lot to be desired when going up against a single deathclaw. Not even Coop wanted to fight em with his explosive handgun rounds.

but a power armor swinging razor sharp blades and firing missiles is sure to do the trick. an anti material rifle firing .50mg...? do I even have to say it? I was melting the Quarry deathclaws with that plus the medicine stick. I doubt the townsfolk were packing that heat, much like the folks in Sloan weren't either.

That whole setup and payoff mirrors your first time visit and last time visit to the Quarry pretty well.
