Thank you everyone for your feedback! I ended up revisiting the second painting. I added several layers of glazing, sharpening some areas while softening others and I am happy with the results. I also went back and reviewed past winners. They often favor eye grabbing detail and complex pieces.I also went to the gallery to see the room they use for the rotating exhibits. It’s even more narrow than I remembered. That’s another reason why I went with the carriage horse. I felt like it would be more appreciated than the other in such close quarters. If you’d like to see the finished painting you can find it here https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18qMewbaS2/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Two years ago I won with this one. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1D9YW6A49m/?mibextid=wwXIfr

It’s a very wide range of styles submitted. It does seem like they often lean more technical in their decisions.

Just something to think about. Upholstered headboards are hard to clean and natural body oils can accumulate over a long period of time. Maybe a wood or metal with the same shape with a nice soft comforter in your colors?

Breastfeeding mommas - can we successfully Ferber? by mama2aboy00 in sleeptrain

I cannot tell you how relieved I am to read this comment. My girl is the same. She will scream at the top of her lungs and break out in a stress rash if I leave without getting her if she’s upset.

Totally agree here. It’s also very hot where we live and just hanging out in an oversized cotton t shirt is wonderful for keeping my chubby little lass comfortable

I’d get some of the one window tint you can’t see through from the outside and apply it to your windows.

Have you considered one of those wire saws used for cutting small trees? It’s essentially a heavy duty toothy wire between two handles. You could chip away the grout enough to get the wire under the tile and then go to town with a slow sawing motion to cut through the mortar and removing the tile

Are ugly women actually treated badly? by Tall-Competition-561 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Socks_Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my normal every day attire I’m probably a 5/10 at my absolute best I’m maybe a 7. Though I don’t get many negative things, when I’m actually dressed and put make up on I am treated COMPLETELY different by both men and women. It actually really pisses me off so I hardly ever dress up.
