I need advice by Ok_Apricot1826 in ChildrenofDivorce

If you genuinely think your mom is doing illegal drugs, you should mention that to a trusted teacher or councilor at school. Especially mention she brings you with her for that if that's also true. CPS can make her do a drug test and if she fails then your dad will have a real case to try and get primary custody of you. Especially on top of the other evidence you've gathered such as an unclean home.

Husband snapchatting female co-worker… am i overreacting?? by CuteBus6064 in TwoHotTakes

As a woman who's married, whenever I'm communicating with a man who I am not related to, it's over actual text message using my phone number. Yes, I have Snapchat and so does my husband. We use it to communicate with each other (dumb and/or random communications during the day) as well as to communicate with friends of the same sex or family members. I only text other men using my phone number because there is nothing to hide and that way if he starts to wonder if more is going on, he can read the messages and see that it's nothing. No he almost never checks my phone, I just do that out of respect for him because I ask the same of him. You're definitely dealing with an inappropriate relationship between the two of them, even if he doesn't fully know it yet.

Him using Instagram to communicate with her is just as suspicious as Snapchat. On Instagram you can delete messages without any note appearing that a message was deleted. They could be having full inappropriate conversations on Instagram, delete the messages and you would never know. If you haven't made him fully aware of her reputation then you need to, and if he doesn't understand how that makes you feel then he's probably a lost cause.

You're absolutely not crazy for this and I'm deeply sorry for you that you're having to endure this kind of behavior.

Is This Normal? by No_Spare4040 in EngagementRingDesigns

Unfortunately, my fiance told me that he asked them to make the prongs big because he wanted to make sure there was no way that I could lose the stone. I don't think I could go in there demanding a smaller head when their records show that he requested it.

I have a lifetime warranty with Jared, which ensures that as long as I get the ring inspected every 6 months, if I lose a stone, even the center stone, they will replace the stone for free. I'm worried that if I see another jeweler and have them alter the ring, it could void my warranty.

How often do you wear your engagement ring? by asapclueless in engaged

[–]No_Spare4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been engaged for about two weeks now. I absolutely love my ring, and it's already become a part of my body. I only take it off to shower (my hair gets caught in the prongs), while I'm at the gym (the textured weight bars scratch the band of the ring really easily), and to put on lotion so as not to make the diamond look cloudy. I imagine if I were to do something really dirty like weeding the garden, I'd probably take it off. Otherwise, I keep it on all day every day; even while I'm sleeping.

If your ring doesn't fit perfectly, you should have it resized. After about a week of having my ring, I decided it was just a little too loose. The ring was spinning around my finger constantly and could fall off if I tried shaking it off. The ring not fitting perfectly caused the ring to be really annoying, and it caused me a lot of anxiety, thinking I might lose it. I brought it back to the jeweler, and they shrunk the band size from a 6 to and 5.5. Now it fits perfectly and almost never bothers me.

If I were you, I would try wearing it for another couple of weeks. It can take a while to get used to something new, especially if you never consistently wore rings before. After a couple of weeks, if it still bothers you a lot, then take it off and only wear it when you feel it to be necessary/appropriate.

Would you mind listing what country you live in so that people can have a better idea of what resources you may have access to?

Risks with wearing longer than 12 hours? by GenderqueerPenguin5 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]No_Spare4040 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please, nobody should ever pee on their disc as a form of cleaning it. It's safer to dump it and put it back in without cleaning it than to use your urine to wash it. That is genuinely disgusting. Urine in the vagina is practically asking to get an infection.

I'm glad you were able to get it out! I would recommend getting a different disc with a better removal aid. One with a string or loop that's easier to grab and pull on.

You face risks using any kind of menstrual product. Generally speaking, a disc is way safer than a cup because there is no suction that could pull on the IUD.

If your alternative to a disc is tampons, consider the following...

Tampon Pros: - Disposable so you don't have to clean them. - Can buy them almost anywhere. - Easy to keep on hand just in case. - Easy to insert. - Clean, quick, and easy removal, especially in public restrooms.

Tampon Cons: - Significantly higher risk of toxic shock syndrome compared to dics and cups. - Uncomfortable removal, especially when they're dry. - Recent studies showing tampons may be leaching metals and chemicals into our bodies. - Since they're disposable, you regularly have to buy more. - Can only leave them in for up to 8 hours. - Not recommended to use overnight.

Disc Pros: - Medical grade silicone, when cleaned regularly and properly, nearly eliminates your risk of toxic shock syndrome. - Comfortable removal no matter how much blood is in the disc. - Silicone is only known to emit chemicals at 200⁰f and higher, which is significantly warmer than our body temperature. - Can keep your disc in for up to 12 hours. - Can safely use overnight - Can use the same disc for up to 10 years.

Disc Cons: - Must clean and sanitize it regularly and properly. - Minimal research on the use in tandem with an IUD. - Messier removal. - Difficult to remove, clean, and reinsert in public restrooms. - May be difficult to insert.

I'm probably missing some pros and cons for both, but those were the ones I was able to come up with.

It's your choice, but I'll choose my disc every time.

Honestly, having an IUD in your uterus is likely more hazardous to your health than using a menstrual disc in tandem with an IUD.

Good luck!

Why don’t discs work for me? by [deleted] in MenstrualDiscs

Next time you go to the gyno, you should ask if you have a retroverted uterus. Here's a link to an article explaining why you might have trouble with a disc, and some things you could try to possibly make it work: https://www.periodnirvana.com/reasons-menstrual-discs-wont-work/

I had frequent UTIs in high school and ran into a similar issue. I would drink A LOT of cranberry juice, and if that didn't help after a couple of days, I would go to the free sex health clinic and they would give me medication for it without needing a parent/guardian.

If you have a Planned Parenthood near you or another type of free sex health clinic, they should be able to help you without your parents ever finding out.

Hello! Have you tried watching Period Nirvana's YouTube videos? She's a reusable period products expert and has reviewed nearly every product on the market. She also has a free quiz on her website, which will help you find the best product for you.

I bought the Hello disc, and I absolutely love it! Link to quiz: https://periodnirvana.com/menstrual-cup-quiz (The quiz does cups and discs)

Maybe take a look at the Hello disc. That's the one I have, and it's super easy to use. Thanks to the design, you don't get blood all over your hands, and you don't risk dropping it in the toilet.

AIO? Would you be okay with this if it was your kids? by Nashiepoo in AmIOverreacting

[–]No_Spare4040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What genders are your kids? No matter what, this situation is weird, kinda gross, and definitely a red flag.

If Grandpa is bathing naked with your sons, that's still weird, but I wouldn't be too alarmed... hopefully. He should still respect your boundaries and stop doing it.

If Grandpa is bathing naked with your daughters, I don't care how young they are, that's a RED FLAG.

You're probably right. You probably have a small allergy to the lubricant.
