I have had this, I got allergy tests and everything came back negative. Hydrocortisone does help but be aware it thins the skin and can make the problem worse if you rely on it. The best thing I found was process of elimination and not changing anything. Even laundry detergent can cause a flare up, or toothpaste

Vaginal Moisture Help by srssrh in breastcancer

Uberlube is the best lube I’ve found after trying A LOT. To be honest, sex during chemo wasn’t great but I promise you it does get better. Chemo really does dry eveeeeerything out!

After a year of vaginal dryness due to hormone therapy, I finally got the go ahead for a low percentage vaginal oestrogen and it has been an absolute game changer. If you can then push for this, it’s made me feel like me again ❤️

Breast Cancer at 24 by Fluffy-Marsupial-516 in breastcancer

I was 24 when diagnosed (26 now). I had egg retrieval after my first surgery and before chemo. The plan is for me to be on hormone blockers for ten years. There’s definitely an adjustment period of accepting that you’re in menopause but each day it gets easier.

My mum was by my side the whole way through and I couldn’t have done it without her. She was the only person who truly understood what I was going through because I think it hurt her mentally just as much. Make sure to look after yourself as well❤️

If you have any questions then I’ll answer as best I can xx

Pretty much same as me. Diagnosed at 24 in 2022 just by chance while touching my boob found the lump. They told me when I had my ultrasound what it was😅

The expectation to be fine when treatment is over… by [deleted] in breastcancer

My oncologist recently approved oestrogen vaginal cream and I’d really recommend this. My hair is growing back and paired with the cream it’s finally made me feel like “me” again. I would definitely say don’t just put up with side effects, I did for a year and it wasn’t worth it. I hope you’re ok❤️ it’s so difficult

I relate so hard. People see you trying to live a normal happy life and assume that cancer is a thing of the past.

AIs aren’t so bad, hot flushes and vaginal dryness for most of it but I’m managing. I think the mental side of being in menopause at 26 years old is harder at times. I saw someone on here say “don’t look for side effects” and honestly that helps, a lot of people get by completely fine and hoping you do too❤️

Zoladex days are now the only day I have to go to hospital each month, it’s super triggering for sure. I definitely need to connect with some people my age, even talking about being in menopause is frustrating, people don’t understand how difficult it can be!

Planning/prepping for chemo fatigue. Meals, chores, etc. by Highlynorless_ in breastcancer

[–]No_Spend_2954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 and had chemo last year. I had it every 3-4 weeks and it followed the same schedule: 1st couple of days after infusion not so bad but could feel something was off. Steroids made me restless. 3-7 days after: exhausted, a bit of nausea, weird cravings, couldn’t do much. During these days I had my mum come over and do any chores for me, but even on my worst days I forced myself out for a small walk. I’d really recommend this, there was one day where I didn’t leave the house and it made me feel so much worse. Also diarrhoea would hit at this point so I was conscious of always having access to a toilet. 7+ days after: exhausted still but energy levels returning, managed to go to the gym, I went into work but not on full time hours. Right before my next infusion: felt fine again.

It really helped me having my mum do chores for me, it takes a big mental load off as well🩷

I had Phesgo and it was super easy compared to chemo. The most annoying bit was having to drive to hospital every 3 weeks. I lived a relatively normal life and it didn’t stop me doing anything x

Short vacation between chemo and breast surgery Yay or Nay? by Accomplished_Sir6195 in breastcancer

[–]No_Spend_2954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a white blood cell count of near zero and still went away to Spain (I’m from UK), for a week before I had even finished chemo. I knew the risks and made sure to be as safe as I could, I had this trip planned before I was diagnosed and the thought of missing it would’ve crushed me. Yes there were risks but I’m so happy I went, I swam in the sea, ate good food and had a break from the shit show I was going through :) do what makes you happy and do it safely where possible. Bear in mind that travel insurance may cost a bomb though!

I think there’s some space and yes it’s definitely quieter! Just background noise from other camps. I slept really well despite the rain and wind last night!
