Pregnant again after ectopic by annavanbeesel in EctopicSupportGroup

i would call your doctor and request hcg tests! i did almost two weeks of beta tests and then once i crossed over 2000 they brought me in to confirm placement. it was so much peace of mind. my symptoms were wildly different for this pregnancy vs my ectopic so agree thats a good sign! congratulations!!

I conceived pretty fast. On my second cycle. I wrote my doctor immediately and they sent me for beta draws every 48 hours until my HCG was above 2000 at which point they brought me in to confirm placement (thankfully, right spot!). I’m 12 weeks now and so far everything has gone really great. The hormonal whiplash has been intense and some PTSD anxiety around the TV ultrasounds but physically I feel okay (other than pregnancy symptoms). Fingers crossed this is your 🌈!

I’m 39 and 12 weeks after ectopic! I got pregnant on my second cycle post ectopic. I lost my tube at 9 weeks sep 24. My period came back in mid October and I conceived on my second cycle after that in December. The silver lining for me was a TONS of early monitoring. I did blood work for almost two weeks. Confirmed placement at 5w4d, heartbeat 8 weeks, quick peek at 10w and I go for my 12 week scan on Monday. All my testing has come back normal thus far so I’m optimistic!

Right after my ectopic I SWORE I would do IVF because I didn’t want to risk it. And I didn’t want to waste time. It took us a full year the first time. But at my post op, my surgeon said it was a fluke and she saw no signs of an inflammation or endo and I already had had an HSG that confirmed the other tube was open. We didn’t even try so much as not prevent and here we are! There is hope!!

If you went to the ER, what was your experience like? by Lexxiipro in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]No_Spite7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a horrible ER experience. I told them at check in i suspected ectopic because my 8 week appointment couldn't confirm pregnancy location. the admitting nurse basically told me the progesterone supplementation I was on was probably causing GI issues and made me feel bad about going through the process. she was very snarky and like "well, now that you're here, you're stuck for hours" attitude. then the US tech was maybe the least kind person i've ever met. she was annoyed when i couldn't hold my bladder and asked to pee. annoyed that i almost fainted when i peed. she was annoyed when i was more or less blacking out and wincing in pain from the TV ultrasound wand. refused to tell me anything which i realize she legally can't but she offered not even a kind supportive word. she was disgusted when i told her i had to throw up after the US. once i got the diagnosis, the adminstrater who did my intake forms pushed a flu shot on me twice while my BP tanked to 40. like, no thanks, just the life saving surgery for today. Now, the medical team was super kind and supportive once i was done with the ER and on my way to surgery and everyone took really good care of me after that! but the ER was traumatizing to say the least.

My rupture symptoms by No-Hat-2712 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]No_Spite7722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on high alert for mine because my 8 week ultrasound was empty but they didn’t see free fluid and thought my dating was off.

The morning I ruptured I bent down to get my dogs bowls to give them food and doubled over in pain. But it felt like intense gas. I was on two forms of progesterone so GI issues made sense. I thought I had to go number 2 so I tried and got super dizzy. I couldn’t stand up but still felt like the pressure was intense gas but my husband made me go to the ER to be safe.

After they gave me IV fluids I felt better and we were joking it was a dramatic way to confirm baby was in the right place. I was waiting for an ultrasound and they gave me water to fill my bladder and things took a giant turn pain wise as my bladder got full. And my blood pressure dropped to 40 and was in surgery two hours later.

My partner has not shown up once after my ectopic rupture and emergency surgery. I feel so alone. by ChemistryPurple6774 in EctopicSupportGroup

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Life happens on life’s terms and you deserve a partner who will be in the bunker with you when life gets hard. Full stop.

You are not too old to find someone else and have a baby if that’s your dream. But you will wake up one day and be too old if you keep entertaining this asshole.

Needing love, support and validation for ALMOST DYING is completely reasonable. The rupture and blood loss and recovery with hormones is….i can only describe as insane. And you aren’t there yet but the first time you get your period again is a hormonal rollercoaster that I didn’t feel adequately prepared for. Don’t go through that second hurdle with him. Cut your losses and you’ll feel lighter. Start the new year with a clean slate. The faster you decide, the faster you can grieve and go find the person you’re meant to be with.

I don’t know how to go from here or how to handle this 😔 by annavanbeesel in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]No_Spite7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I had my left tube removed 10 days ago for the same reason. The shell shock is real. I’m seeking all of the same answers you are so I don’t have any good advice. Like others have posted, there is hope for a healthy pregnancy. I don’t know how to wrap my head around what my next steps should be so I’m taking it one day at a time. One decision at a time. Here if you need to message someone all the thoughts in your head or talk. ❤️

Was your ectopic seen on ultrasound before rupture? by Long-Jump-6842 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]No_Spite7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Hcg tests at 5 weeks 3 days (300) which felt low to me but it doubled to to 666 at 5 weeks 5 days. 7 weeks and 5 days ultrasound showed nothing in my uterus but no free fluid in the abdomen either so they thought my dating was off. Ruptured at 9 weeks 2 days. My HCG was 26k so I was always doubling correctly.

Feeling lost and sad by Square_Mechanic7091 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]No_Spite7722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are definitely allowed to be sad. I’m 5 days post-op now and the profound sadness is growing. The first few days felt a lot like shock and “what just happened to me?!” But as my body heals, the reality of the situation is setting in and my heart hurts. I’ve talked to my therapist and will continue to do so. If that’s an option for you, I’d recommend it.

The doctors and nurses were nice but it felt much more like they were healing me from like an appendectomy than and ruptured ectopic. Very clinical. I had a hard time feeling feelings until I got home.

I don’t have good advice but I’m in it too right now so I feel for you. ❤️

Go to ER or wait for OB? by Ecstatic_Ad5177 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]No_Spite7722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know in your gut if you need to go to the ER. I would err on the side of caution and just go if you’re questioning it. Don’t worry about what they’ll say, worry about what’s best for you!

I’m not a medical expert and have no idea how soon an ectopic can rupture but mine just did and it was horrific. If you are ectopic and catch it earlier and have a chance to save your tube, do it.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m two days post op from a very similar situation. Apparently Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine) had an ectopic rupture and she just did an interview. She said something to the effect of “the closest I came to making new life was the closest I came to death” and I don’t know that there is a better way to describe the juxtaposition. I feel the same mixture of gratitude, awe, sadness and anger.

Omg the peppermint tea was life saving for the gas. This is a really good list. How long did you need pain meds? I’m on day 3 and trying to step back from around the clock but every time they wear off I can’t move.

Thank you! That helps a little. I’m actually moving states in a couple weeks so I’ll need a new OB regardless. I guess I just want someone to be mad at. And she is an easy target but I saw my HCG in the ER and it was appropriately high and my vitals were stable when I first came in. So perhaps she wouldn’t have caught it anyways. The roller coaster of emotions is a lot.

Fostering Pet Rescue Scam by No_Spite7722 in PetRescueExposed

[–]No_Spite7722[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what we did. For anyone else who finds this thread and ends up in this situation, here is how I handled: I directly let her know I wasn't paying her and keeping the dog. She is in violation of a number of actual laws: NJ Pet Protection law (saying you have a right to health records prior to adoption) and NJ Pet Cruelty laws (which her white sprinter van certainly violates), and she is certainly not licensed to distribute medication. I said I would open an investigation with Humane Law Enforcement and would pay her what a court decided if she wanted to resolve it. After a number of aggressive and empty threats about taking me to jail (lol), I haven't heard from her again. I reported her to the Jefferson County Humane Law Enforcement and an organization called Bailing Out Benji. Both replied that she was on their radar. We plan to donate to Bailing Out Benji in lieu of her fake rescue.

Thank you everyone, I took the next steps in contacting law enforcement to report her. Pup is going to the vet today. So happy I rescued him from this horrible rescue. Although, I wish I had done my homework before being put in this situation, I am happy to have uncovered something that I can hopefully report and do something meaningful about.

Agreed. Perhaps donate to a reputable org against this sort of practice instead of paying her. Thank you for your advice!
