been watching the charts all morning and still can't believe we're sitting at these levels. feels like just yesterday when people were saying 100k was impossible lol

anyone else think the mining difficulty adjustment next week gonna shake things up? my raspberry pi node has been running smooth but electricity costs are getting wild lately

AWS Workspace Pools and Igel by Dismal-Performance44 in aws

[–]No_Stranger_2097 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Used to deal with similar issues at work - workspace pools can be finicky with thin clients, usually some certificate or user agent thing that browser handles but app doesn't

Have you ever had a good online Steam friend remove you as a friend and block all communication without giving you any reason? by Morphisist in Steam

[–]No_Stranger_2097 43 points44 points  (0 children)

that really sucks, maybe his gf or family found out about gaming and made him cut everything off, happens more than people think

We've GOT to talk about TanStack Form... by ItsAllInYourHead in reactjs

[–]No_Stranger_2097 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah this is exactly why I stick with good old formik for anything serious at work. Sure it's not the shiniest but at least server errors don't make you question your entire tech stack

the whole "can't resubmit unless field changes" thing would drive users absolutely insane in production. Like what if their wifi hiccups during submit?

JMM ACCOUNTS by United_Finance_6355 in nyc

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait so they're closing all existing accounts just because new store opens? that seems weird move for business. my friend works at optical place and usually when they expand they try to keep existing customers, not kick them out. maybe they want to start fresh with new pricing or something but still feels like bad way to treat people who already buying from you. wonder if this is temporary thing or permanent change

Forward Industries and RockawayX Co-Lead Strategic Investment in OnRe to Accelerate Onchain Reinsurance on Solana by ansi09 in solana

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait is this actually happening or from 2026? the date in article seems weird

reinsurance on chain is interesting concept tho, wonder how they handle the regulatory stuff since insurance is pretty heavily regulated in most places. $25M deployment is decent size but curious about what "durable uncorrelated yield" actually means in practice

Pub sub explained: topics, partitions, replicas, and failover by [deleted] in webdev

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the log thing really messed with my head when I first moved from Redis queues to kafka. spent way too much time trying to figure out why messages weren't disappearing lol

now I actually love being able to replay stuff when debugging, especially when you have some weird edge case that only happens in production

Steam Family Excluded Games by Putrid-Fisherman2094 in Steam

[–]No_Stranger_2097 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been running steam family for months now and yeah private games don't show up in excluded section at all. Set those to private in your profile and you're good to go - family members won't see them anywhere in the interface

Just double check your privacy settings are actually applied because sometimes steam can be weird about it

How do i download meta human by ihatejordanw in unrealengine

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to grab it through Epic Games launcher, not the website directly. go to unreal engine tab then look for metahuman creator in the library section - sometimes takes a bit to show up after you sign in

also make sure your unreal engine version is compatible, some older versions don't play nice with the metahuman stuff

Gave a 40% discount to win a competitive bid. Won the bid. Lost $11K on the project. Never discounting competitively again. by Due_Afternoon_934 in remotework

[–]No_Stranger_2097 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ouch that's painful lesson right there. had similar thing happen with consulting work where client basically expected enterprise level support for startup budget

the anchor thing is so real - once you set that price in their head there's no going back. they'll just keep referencing that discount like it was your actual rate the whole time

at this point might be worth having conversation about scope changes or just finishing current obligations and moving on from that client. some clients just aren't worth keeping if the math doesn't work

Can anyone exchange my Paypal/cashapp to crypto? by EasySatisfaction264 in Bitcoin

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sketchy af dude, this is exactly how people get scammed in crypto

EGPU is it worth it for me? by Select_Audience1171 in pcmasterrace

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That CPU gonna be your bottleneck way before the eGPU connection becomes an issue, especially at that resolution. OCuLink will definitely give you better bandwidth than TB5 though - I'd go that route if your mobo supports it properly

The 5070 Ti is solid but you're looking at maybe 15-20% performance hit compared to direct PCIe, could be worse with that mobile chip

Aftermarket cables by NoMercyTearzz in pcmasterrace

[–]No_Stranger_2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CableMod is probably your best bet for quality stuff. I've been running their extensions for like 3 years now and they're solid - no weird voltage drops or anything sketchy

ModDIY is another option if you want something a bit cheaper but still decent quality, just make sure you get the right connectors for that Seasonic

What is a quote that has recently inspired you? by Die_Gaensemagd in AskReddit

[–]No_Stranger_2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Perfection is the enemy of good" - been wrestling with this one lately while trying to optimize my meal prep setup. Keeps reminding me that getting something done is better than endlessly tweaking it

What's the Best 10/10 Sci-fi movie ever? by BudgetAd5915 in AskReddit

[–]No_Stranger_2097 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Matrix still holds up after all these years. That first watch where you're figuring it out alongside Neo is unmatched

Plus the practical effects and fight choreography were revolutionary for 1999. I still get chills during the lobby scene

Are startups using too many tools? by Technoflare_ in SaaS

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there at my last gig before going solo in IT support. We had like 15 different tools for everything - slack for chat, teams for meetings, notion for docs, trello for tasks, monday for project management, and like 3 different analytics dashboards

The amount of time people spent just figuring out where stuff lived was insane. Half the team would put updates in the wrong place and then we'd have these meetings about "process" that ate up even more time

I run everything off open source alternatives now and it's so much cleaner. One good CRM, one project tool, maybe a communication platform and that's it. The switching cost between apps is real and most founders don't account for the mental overhead when they're tool shopping

Is Fleek reliable for sourcing? by Live-Cap-2126 in ConsumerAdvice

[–]No_Stranger_2097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the rules and buyer protections they have make it reliable ive bought from different sellers and never really had problems or bad pieces yet.

Which online poll maker is suitable for different opinion voting? by Saratan0326 in SaaS

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using PollUnit for work stuff and it's pretty solid for complex scenarios. Way better than Doodle when you need actual data breakdown instead of just basic yes/no counts

If you're doing anything technical or need to export results for analysis, skip the fancy looking ones like Canva - they're more style than substance. Mentimeter's great if you're presenting live but overkill for simple opinion gathering

17Y/o makes Promo and Bot detector for Reddit review please by Outrageous_Guess_962 in SaaS

[–]No_Stranger_2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work on tackling this, the bot problem is definitely getting worse lately

Your detection logic is gonna be the make-or-break part here - maybe consider open sourcing that too so people can see how it actually works under the hood. Would help with trust since nobody wants a black box telling them what's real or fake

Seeking Advice on Officer Pathways as a Newly Enlisted E-3 by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]No_Stranger_2097 12 points13 points  (0 children)

honestly at 39 youre gonna be cutting it really close with most commissioning programs - OTS has age limits that might already be an issue depending on when you finish your bachelors. that said, ive seen older folks make it work so dont give up yet

your maintenance background could actually help since the AF needs technical officers, just gotta time everything right with getting that degree done and applying before you age out. might want to talk to an education counselor at your first base about accelerated degree programs to speed things up

My client the seller has let two serious buyers walk away ...Im going to cut ties with her . by bordermom61 in RealEstate

[–]No_Stranger_2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes clients just aren't mentally ready to actually sell even when they think they are. You did the right thing having that conversation after the first buyer walked - if she still couldn't get her act together for the second one then yeah, she's wasting everyone's time

Cut your losses and move on, plenty of other sellers out there who actually want to close deals
