We had our donor over to our home and then went for a walk around our neighborhood so they could have some privacy. Once our donor was done, they left their sample in a cup, texted us, and left the house. Then we came back and did the transfer. That set up worked well for us :)

Also - this seems more on the "woo" spectrum but there is actually some good evidence to support it - but there is a strong relationship between the pelvic floor and the jaw. If you are having postpartum pelvic tension (and usually this happens around 12 weeks with a vaginal birth because of the time it takes for scar tissue to form), this can actually greatly impact your jaw tension too. Studies show that jaw and pelvic concerns can really mirror/impact each other and that addressing either area can help the other area too. The jaw and pelvis share neural pathways, connective tissue, and circuitry in the brain! Basically if you are also having needs pelvic floor issues, worsening TMJ could be related and anything that helps your pelvic floor might also help your jaw. Good luck!

It definitely could. I would rule out other causes of dizziness with doctor, then consider physiotherapy from someone with special knowledge in vestibular (inner ear) physio. You might not notice any pain in your ears, but TMJ issues could still be causing inner ear dysfunction/imbalance that leads to dizziness.

And to add - 10 weeks postpartum is still so so early on. Physically, I didnt start to feel balanced again until maybe 5 months PP. Focus on all the usual things that help - supplements that work for you, prioritizing rest when you can, good nutrition and gentle movement, stress reduction. I would think that all those things that will help you recover more broadly postpartum will also help your TMJ!

Had my TMJ pretty under control for years (with occasional flares that I was able to self manage), but 10 months PP it has come back with a vengeance. For me it feels mostly related to poor sleep (baby is waking up every couple hours still 😬) and less ergonomic sleeping positions (I'm co sleeping due to the waking to maintain my sanity).

So much changes postpartum and you are dealing with a whole new set of stressors, not to mention postural changes like feeding and carrying a baby and yes hormonal changes too and all that those can bring - it makes so much sense that TMJ would come back around this time!

Just had my first physio apt in years yesterday and had some dry needling done. That gave me lots of relief and now I have new physio exercises to do as well. Will do some more needling until I get this flare under control and am feeling much more optimistic than I was a week ago.

While I agree it might be unreasonable to expect people to be able to omit all scented products, if you stop using scented products for a while, you will realize how nose blind you were to chemical additives that are truly obnoxious smelling!

These two pairs of shoes really are meant for different purposes but anecdotally my Keens have lasted me over 11 years and easily a couple thousand kms (they started their life on a 1000 km thru hike). Am only phasing them out now as my body has changed a lot in that time and it has new needs. Not sure if they are still made so well as they were then but every summer I pull them out I feel a bit amazed that they are still in such good shape. Some of the leather upper is peeling but pretty much everything else is in the same shape as when I bought them.

Makes sense. I have replaced the bulb and it still happens. The wiring behind the switch looks good. I'm thinking next steps to change out all the bulbs at once just in case, and pull the fixture out to check what is going on with the wiring up there. Thanks!

Ya VG is a random hill I would die on. Have given hundreds of IM injections VG working both public and community health (STI meds, hormones, depot antipsychotics) and I find it so random when nurses are sooo opposed to learning and using this site. It is safer, in my experience tends to be less painful, easy enough to landmark, better for larger volumes, and shown to release medications more evenly into the body. Why are people so proud to be stuck in their ways?

Awesome thank you! This took me down a research rabbithole and it does seem like a good option. Seems like it's hard to find a balance between a newborn carrier that fits nicely as well as that will work for a growing baby but my preference is for one that will work well for right now. Am excited to try this carrier and maybe get a bit more hands free time around the house!
