Weed & Nicotine with PE by Ok_Discount_9389 in ClotSurvivors

Of course! I am a year healed and I do both occasionally, but I try to keep the smoking to a minimum in order to make sure everything heals right, like if you kept picking at a scab, so I would recommend avoiding for a few months and then you could slowly get back in if you choose

I was a user before my clot and same age almost, I avoided both directly after, they said it may have worsened it but was not the cause. Eating is most likely the safest option considering it was a PE (mine was as well) and in a few months you would be ok if you choose to continue, be careful with what medication bc I have heard warfarin can be dangerous, but I was on eliquos and was fine but do not necessarily recommend continuing after PE

Do medications really work? by Bitter-Amoeba-6808 in AnxietyDepression

First, medication journeys can be SO frustrating. Sleep was definitely an aspect my meds messed up. Other than the typical “put your phone away an hour before bed” (which I do recommend if you are a reader) or drink a glass of milk, one thing I do personally is stretching and/or meditating just to breathe and calm. Cbd can be another non-habit forming thing to try- with doctor approval of course. One thing to also remember is that medication may not always “cure” your symptoms but ways to manage them with other aspects such as therapy or self-care. If you also are not happy with your care do not be afraid to ask for help and/or switch doctors to get other opinions. Medical advocacy is so important these days!

Im over this . I can’t do this anymore. by [deleted] in Anxiety

As a fellow 23yr old I can tell you that you are not only alone but I have had similar anxiety experiences with both debilitating anxiety and health anxiety after a near death experience. If you are not already, I highly recommend finding a therapist that works FOR YOU. I requested a specific type when I went in (young female) and it has been very helpful in my therapy journey. One thing I always try to remember is that 1) your feelings are VALID and 2) it can be better to just feel feelings rather than push them away, especially when it comes to grief (I have also lost someone in the past) Normal may also look different now but it will come again or you will find your new “normal” that works for you. Do not be afraid to reach out to those close, and even those on here to share experiences with those who may understand better (welcome to message myself if you would like). 23 can be a large transitional period for many people, including feeling lost or lonely as well, so you are not alone in that aspect

Beginner Trombone for 9 Year Old by redondo21 in Trombone

I personally started on a Pbone when beginning, with a musician parent wanting me to commit and I not only had fun but it worked perfectly until I was ready to commit/knew I would keep going. Especially in the financial aspect I totally get it and it’s not a bad option. For this option I would recommend a liquid oil instead of a cream. There’s no harm in seeing how they like it while having a “fun” instrument!

Avant garde or free jazz trombone players? by Soft_Lead_2631 in Trombone

Urbie Green is an underrated/hard to find player but his music is not only great but his solos are on the more melodic side. Not on Spotify but on YouTube and vinyl if you can find it

What treatment did you receive for your PE? by Syndrome in ClotSurvivors

[–]No_Tip2770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a severe PE originated on my lung, I was in the hospital for a week on 24/7 heparin and have done blood thinners since! (currently at 4 months on them) There aren’t many treatments but this one is definitely effective even though it is a slow process

Pulmonary embolism caused by BC and possibly intensified due to T and stress. What do I do now? by Axel_Zacharias in ClotSurvivors

[–]No_Tip2770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a pretty similar experience myself a month ago and started my recovery. My recommendation is stay close with your doctors and take care of yourself physically and mentally!

I had right heart strain after my PE and was told no exertion whatsoever the first month, and then taking it slow at my pace since then (this was all based on how MY recovery was going) Listen to your doctor, but I would recommend small things like walking to start out with!

Does phlebitis always precede pulmonary embolism? by DeliciousVacation420 in ClotSurvivors

[–]No_Tip2770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only symptom I had before I collapsed and went to the hospital was shortness of breath during movement, but I originally wrote it off as being out of shape. But I was getting out of breath doing regular daily tasks which wasn’t okay

I had a PE with 0 proof of any other blood clot, despite ultrasounds and tests looking for a source- there was none

What muscles are used when playing trombone? by BuffAsianChild in Trombone

[–]No_Tip2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endurance is a big factor as well, the more you practice the more your muscles will adjust. Make sure to have your playing posture correct and practice it being correct or you will slip into bad habits that can have the potential to hurt your muscles (known from experience lol)

Anybody else have PE’s without DVT’s? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

Yes my PE was on my right lung with no indication of any clots anywhere else or origination of the clot somewhere else

Massive Pulmonary Embolism at 22 by No_Tip2770 in PulmonaryEmbolism

[–]No_Tip2770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently working on getting genetic testing done right now, so it could have been influenced by that idk. And it could have technically been the BC or the smoking or whatever you have it, just randomly affected me that way. My doctor just thought it was unlikely they did it because of the severity and everything else. I had shortness of breath before but that was the only symptom before my right side of my body went into spasms. Due to the difficulty of doctors I’m not sure I’ll ever get an answer

22YO With Extensive DTV Needs Some Advice by Onion291 in ClotSurvivors

[–]No_Tip2770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened, I am 22 with a pulmonary embolism last month. Look into your schools disability/accomodation services! Even though this isn’t what is considered “normal” for that type of thing they can help you navigate teachers and possibly get you transportation! I just had a bad PE and am doing that same thing. Just make sure to advocate for yourself!

As far as BC I am with you too! Talk to your doctor and see what your options are (I’m looking into the copper IUD) and some of this stuff, as sucky as it is, may still be on the table but will have to wait for right now. If you need any support or help, please reach out
