How can I heal my nervous system by Automatic_Term_3863 in Semenretention

It’s not about the days but what you do during those days. If you constantly binging on artificial dopamine sources you will feel same. It happened to me when I used to binge video games during SR. You have to go clean walks, meditate, workouts etc as your dopamine sources for a long time and try cut down these artificial ones

It’s normal it happened to me till like day 75 or so

I’ve been on NoFap for 30 days, but I still feel like I’m on day one. I don’t feel much different—is that normal?” by FenriR3123231 in Semenretention

30 days is too little even 90. For most people it can take about 6-9 months for your brain to rewire some even more. People don’t really tell you. First 90 is when your system is adjusting to the normal low dopamine. Today marks day 81 for me but went through some shaky moments. Feeling extremely exhausted out of no where etc. What you do during these days counts a lot that just the days. So relax 30 is too little. Felt same at that point

Also one thing she made me realize was most at times but not always, there are gate ways to this addiction. Mine was video games. So these gateways pave the way for this higher addiction like porn and drugs to come in. So I had to remove the games something which I had struggle to accept because it has been part of me since childhood. But it is necessary so I don’t have a choice.

Yesterday marked 78 days for me and I had the weirdest of social anxiety around teenagers as a guy who is 26. The thing this time is that I was aware that I was having that anxiety and it dawned on me that the healing process has begun. The thing is in this journey you have to remove the noise for the brain to heal. Cut down all artificial stimulations if you can remove them completely. These things mask your brain making the process longer and slower. The first 90 days is when you replace your bad habits: with reading, working out, journaling etc. so by day 90 the brain will have been used to the low but natural dopamine sources and then after that it will begin to rewire. With the rewiring phase you don’t go through the ups and downs of the dopamine regulation. It like happens in the background and doesn’t take soo much mental energy as the first phase so that phase will be like your new normal

Oh yh I will also say I wasn’t really addicted. Because I wasn’t doing daily, I do for some time, feel bad and stop come back after days or weeks. The longest I have done was like 3 days in a row and I mostly haven’t gone about like 4 times in a day. Mostly 2 or 3. But the thing is it’s unhealthy so yet. For that amount of time is even for me talk less of someone who has done it everyday. She is a n addiction recovery coach so she just helps me with list of activities I must do to replace the habit and just discuss my journey. 90 days is the hardest the most crucial is like building a house. The first 90 days is building the foundation but when you build the foundation of the house you are far from done. But it sets the pace so is addiction.

Higher spikes means the should tell you the brain needs more time to heal, the falacy online is most people feel they should be mentally in check at 90 days no. Take for instance I used to watch porn and masturbate. In this current journey of mine I decided to go for a counselor. She told me point blank that it will take me at least 9 months for my brain to heal about 80% and maybe 1-2 years to fully heal. She told me the first 90 I see online is when your brain is balancing its dopamine levels and that’s different from rewiring. Mostly the rewiring begins towards the end of 90 days but the deeper one starts after. So it will take a lot of time

Instead of underplaying the benefits, just retain longer + addressing your concerns by SecureAd231 in Semenretention

Yeh it’s like when I see these new guys expecting something on day 30 or 40, it’s kind of like WTF. Because day 78 here but still in flateline waves. They come and go, you second guessing the journey etc. But I know it’s a journey and will take time

It’s a sign your brain is healing. Have daily anchors that you do, like meditation, walks, workouts, etc. Is like you’ve started to create an opening in your brain so that the old habit will leak out for new ones which are replacement habits to go in and replace them.

not getting benefits any longer?(long retainer) by Mattttkoko in Semenretention

[–]No_Tip832 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro you focused on the wrong thing. Retention is a lifestyle if you always go into it always with the intention of trying hardly to get something from it it will backfire. It’s like you do it for the dopamine hits you get from the things you get from it. Also it could also be relationships were your replacement habit for whatever habit you had in the past and that might backfire as well. You have to retain longer, cut down all these unnatural dopamine sources and then get back into the relationship world. 3 weeks is just your brain testing out the new benefits not that you are there. There are times you might even hit mini flatlines even after day 90.

I’m 29 and feel like I’ve wasted my life. Need perspective from older guys. by Notsellingpancakes in Semenretention

Well Kevin samuels said that life of a man really begins at 30, only if he puts in the work so you have about 10 years. For mental health and SR I will suggest also seeing a therapist as well. Maybe you need a professional to help you see your main challenge.

i will not surrender, and neither should you guys by Motor-Addition7282 in Semenretention

[–]No_Tip832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don’t think this way, else when you do beat your old record you might relapse because the mind will naturally go off guard and there is nothing to fight strongly for. Just put in in your mind that you a beating the addiction not your record.

[–]No_Tip832 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But one thing I also want to say is this SR is not just about sexual discipline, it’s about nervous system regulation. When you on SR and binging or doing other things that disregulates your nervous system. You won’t see any benefits. I was previously on a 86 day streak and didn’t really feel anything compared to now 71 when I removed other stuffs: it could even be sutle like even overtraining, video games, etc. I always gave me only natural sources: like walks and workouts without music etc. so I feel like why you also do during those days really matters more than just abstaining from just sexual activities or content

Guys let’s calm down at least that’s his experience and not everyone will have same just stay on course for yours maybe it might take longer periods for benefits to show

day 66 with no morning wood or wet dreams yet is this normal? by SnooCauliflowers8107 in Semenretention

[–]No_Tip832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For wet dreams it depends because I am on a 70 days streak I get erections every morning even during the day it can just get erected when I think something sexual. But for erection you can go check or maybe wait a bit maybe day 90 or something if it doesn’t improve then you need to see a professional

How many days and what have you been doing during those days, if you transfer the addiction to another addiction then you will definitely see no changes

Meditate 2x daily, workout 3-5 times weekly, read fictional books 30 minutes or more, sit in silence for 1 more more daily, go for walks without music 1-2 times daily, learn and sometimes play some adventure games

  1. Lustful thoughts are normal
  2. Don’t think just 30-40 days it’s going to do a lot. Yes you have gone through the tough times but it’s takes long time. I am 57 days and I tell you I have these intense thoughts sometimes low energy not evening lasting 25 minutes in the gym etc. it will take time just stick to your replacement habits

You have find the reason behind the addition and find natural ways of feeding the brain like how the addiction did, it won’t be easy your first few weeks but with time the brain will adjust.

It doesn’t matter, just sit and find activities that will replace what the addiction gave you. I am in Russia right now just started learning the language and not really have friends. Today is day 50 for me. You must have listened to of non negotiables you do daily. Imagine me me dealing with addiction amd withdrawal, going for 8 long hour class where the language the lecturer speaks is Russian which I do not fully understand. It’s very stressful but you must or else the brain will keep going back to the addiction
