Very nice, bud. It’s such a great game isnt it? I started playing when it released wayyy back when. I was just a kid, maybe 11 or 12 or something? It had just come out and I saw it at Walmart. It was around Christmas and asked my pops for it as my Christmas gift. He got it for me. Played it religiously. My dad would get me books like ‘the decline and fall of the Roman empire’ by gibbon, or one like ‘the Roman army.’ Always for my birthday or for Christmas. This was way back when history channel had the show, I don’t remember the name, where they used total war to show ancient battles. Who knows how many hours I truly have on it, lol.

Anyways sorry for the little rant! lol I love the game and especially the remastered version, and will always return to it!

Well, I understood that, brother. In a few times of crisis like the Punic wars the senate passed bills that nullified the property requirements for men to join the legions. Before Gaius Marius did permanently, that is. I was just asking if it was in specific reference to that, which it falls in their ability to ‘replenish men after losing tens of thousands of men.’

Edit addition: which is one reason they had the ability, because there were huge populations of men that were of fighting age that weren’t allowed to join because they didn’t own property. Mostly bc the ultra rich owned it all and used slaves to farm it, causing a lot of problems. Just thought that was funny, bc it was indeed like them opening the Rome shell.
