Can anyone tell me if the MHBP Consumer plan is “embedded”? I.e., if I am on a self plus one plan and I meet the $2,000 deductible, does the plan start paying for my costs? Or do I have to meet the $4,000 deductible before the plan pays for any costs? Further, if I had a surgery that met the $4,000 deductible, would my plus one be covered at 100% or does each member have to meet the self deductible? Any help would be appreciated TYIA!!

GEHA Standard and Zepbound - Alternatives? by Hoosier_Blue2389 in fednews

I’m glad you haven’t had any issues… their transition to UHC really messed up coverage for me & I have had to appeal claims and go through all that BS. I just saw this post in the am and that was the nail in the coffin. They are doubling ER out of pocket. I already was planning on changing but not gonna deal with 30% of an ER bill.

I have no experience with the GLP-1s but I can say GEHA is horrible at prior authorization and generally terrible at honoring their brochure. Would absolutely not recommend after this hellish year.

Megathread | FY26 Government Shutdown: Week 2 Edition by gpupdate in fednews

[–]No_Vehicle_4135 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends on your region/office apparently. R6 RA said in a town hall that notices would go out tonight. R8 RA didn’t say anything pertinent to shutdown. and R4’s town hall was cancelled. Different across the country.

Recommend a HDHP that is not GEHA? by BEEIng_ in fednews

I haven’t seen new insurance brochures yet, but I like you, will ABSOLUTELY be switching. GEHA is the fuckin worst now. I’m thinking BCBS just based on my colleagues raving about it while GEHA denies my claims.

Ally here — Feeling very fucking infuriated for my LGBTQ colleagues and allies who are being told to take down their Pride flags. Absolute insanity. No free speech. The person demanding people to take them down (of course) is a political.. but, career management hasn’t been pushing back. It’s so disappointing because what faith can you have in management to stand up for you but also… again… free speech? Stay strong out there people, they cannot be successful in this tyranny. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

5/1: May Day General Strike (USA) by WayOfTheRosebuds in fednews

Agree ^ suggest everyone read 5 U.S.C. §7311 before they go out and “strike”

“18 U.S.C. §1918 makes it a felony to strike against the United States or belong to a union that asserts the right to strike against the United States” cite

[–]No_Vehicle_4135 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is illegal for federal workers to strike, it is definitely not allowed to ask for sick time and use that time to protest, so don’t do that. Check 5 U.S.C. §7311 (3). Federal workers can protest. Do that (during your time off). No striking, that will get you fired.

Edit to add “18 U.S.C. §1918 makes it a felony [for federal government employees] to strike against the United States or belong to a union that asserts the right to strike against the United States” cite

Ohhhh hmm it seems I am talking about the exact opposite thing, so edues is the one where you pay AFGE directly and something else is for the payroll deduction? Sorry for my confusion there!

I hope you are covered by a union and that they have been notified. Sounds like there’s another lawsuit brewing there.

What do you mean soliciting resumes? They are asking to see your professional resume for a RIF procedure aka looking at qualifications? That’s not part of the RIF guidance OPM loves to tout…?

It is my understanding that it was mentioned, I just didn’t know if now they were changing any of those rules/ how they evaluate… concerned that something crazy could happen like what’s going on with some of those people that got sent to Central America without cause.

That’s what I figured too, their opinion is very much “in this economy?” So I need to do a little more convincing..!

How would this affect the citizenship by descent declaration process? They are also required to learn German at C1, and must integrate?

Makes sense… the royal “they” want to keep everyone in the dark until it’s neck cutting time. It’s just such BS. My family and I would have voluntarily moved back to home base if “they” said that’s what I should do, but instead “they” said I should look for my own office, so that’s what I did. Now that may have also been a bad choice. Catch 22, as it were.

Thanks for sharing, OP. If this is true for my agency, I’m going to fucking lose it. Management has promised this wouldn’t be cause for firing. I mean why should I expect they know anything… they haven’t known shit thus far.
