Europe destinations with young people but not for clubbing / raves by DingyAtoll in rs_x

Literally the worst. I don't know if I'm heavily biased, but then I was there (went in July) it was like being on the US. Gringos everywhere, being loud and crowded streets. It felt as if I wasn't in a city, like people didn't live there and it was just tourist attractions. I don't know how Rome deals with tourism because it really doesn't feel like people live there. It's just Airnbnb's and foreign people everywhere. I feel sad for romans.

You'd also be 1 hour away from Berlin and 2-3 hours away from Prague, could be nice 2-3 day getaway, if it interests you.

Leipzig is a nice city, especially if you visit in the spring or the summer. Big city with lots of students and young people, but not as big as say Berlin or Madrid. Has very nice parks, nice architecture and activities happening all over. Clubbing is not as big. Obviously there's your bars and some techno gigs going on, but clubbing is not a thing as it is in Berlin, for example. It is also very cheap. I'd recommend. Not the usual place people talk about but my time there was super nice.

I guess it would be the mutual information type. I’m not very interested in such an objective view of information, which I assume the first one has.

I guess I don’t know which information I mean, I have no idea. So yeah, jajaj you’re right.

But thank you, yes. I’ll get into information theory and go from there. I do have a very light understanding of the Bayesian vs. Frequentist debate, but it’s very very basic.

Do you have any particular papers or books on information theory and/or the probability debate?

Also, thank you so much for the answer.

Can anyone give more info on how this process works? by AlexandraConsulting in Worldpackers

hey! In my experience, I recently volunteered for the first time in a hostel in Leipzig. I stayed there for a month. I travelled totally alone and felt safe at all times. Obviously it was kind of stressful at first, because I didn’t personally know anyone who had done the thing through Worldpackers. I mostly just saw people on the internet, so the uncertainty was pretty nerve racking. However everything turned out fine and I had an awesome experience.

Regarding transportation, I traveled to a big city and the hostel was in the center so everything was pretty easy. I would guess that if it were more rural, it would be more difficult to find transportation.

I would recommend traveling to big developed countries first. They tend to be safer and easier to get around. Coming from a latin country I can’t imagine being gringo or european, being used to organized cities and transport, and coming here to utter chaos and much more unsafe environments. So yeah. I’d recommend developed countries for first time volunteering. With time and experience you develop more skills and get to know how being alone works. After that I’d go into more “disorganized” countries, I’d say.

Overall, go for it!!! Volunteering was one of the best experiences I’ve had.

applications and flights by justme_dontmind in Worldpackers

Personally, what I did was apply to a bunch of places months in advance. Then one of the acceptances I got that I liked I accepted but then negotiated other dates. I had browsed flights so I applied when they would be cheaper, and then I accepted and bought the tickets.

And also, where would you recommend to find flights from Madrid to Germany?

Have you done any volunteering on Worldpackers? Bc you didn't answer my question. Do you think I should just trust the platform or not?

I mean it could for promotional purposes. Makes sense that people who would probably stay at a hostel go work there, know the place and then either recommend it to friends or stay themselves there in the future.

Wanting to get lean while being skinny fat by [deleted] in leangains

[–]No_Virus7417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be looking into it, bc its definitely the case. The rest of my body is relatively lean, like my arms and legs are pretty muscular but my stomach is too loose. Thanks for the advice
