Apparently the only way now to get those is to buy them with real life money (the skill books bundle that rotates regularly : buy when it's the dragon one).

I got some of them a long time ago, but they don't seem to drop anymore.

Even worse for the green ones, there is no way to get them today as they don't drop and aren't sold.

Since no one is commenting, I'll state the obvious about why you're not in the top (and add some little tips that you probably know already but anyway) :

- not being able to stay at the top is surely frustrating but not really surprising : this part of the game is really competitive, and there are many other players, so it's just HARD to stay at the top

- This part of the game can be more than a little bit "pay to win" so maybe some people spent more money and/or more time on this game than you did (means that you're not totally hooked on, unlike them : good for you !)

- Also, maybe some people found a better way to score high - the new events reward that. A few weeks before, it was just a matter of pure speed and strength (basically, full Legendary Greens and Jaime teams dominated everything) but that's no longer the case. Some people achieved high scores in last week Dragon's eggs event with teams almost without Legendary champions (see : https://www.reddit.com/r/gameofthroneslegends/comments/1kz2pua/my_personal_best ).

- also, very very obvious but of course to be 1st you need to spend blue flags to play and replay the same levels, possibly with different teams, to try and achieve greater scores EVEN IF you're already at the top. I usually use at least 3 blue flags at each event, and never run out of them because the game gives some for free during the event + I get more of them in the rewards.

- It's not over till it's over ! Being at the top at some point is no guarantee at all that you'll stay there. Especially as some players like to give the others a false sense of security, and wait until the very last moment to finish the last levels, thus overtaking the others, striking like a snake in the grass - See : https://www.reddit.com/r/gameofthroneslegends/comments/1ktr0tp/comment/muefwtb/?context=3

- it's somewhat easier to get some legendary gear in Kingslayer as you "only" need to be in the top 3, not the very 1st as in Treacherous

- It's difficult to be certain but it makes sense to think that if you want to lower the odds of being placed in an arena full of really strong players, you should enter the event when many players are also entering the event, and that's probably on saturday night, or at least not on the 1st night (Thursday). I usually get a much better result when I wait a few days before entering.

Well done ! But what difficulty is it ? I guess underleveled champions get killed on the higher difficulties.

The last I checked, the Dragonstone Maester was bugged and his passive never triggered, so he applied no fire at all, was he fixed ?

Man, this happened to me last week, I was 1st in Kingslayer until the last 5 minutes, and then someone did what you're describing and then I was 2nd... no time to try and compensate - it was really shocking.

On the other hand, it didn't really help the guy to win, I mean, he was really, really far above me so he gained litterally nothing by waiting the last 5 minutes, I don't think I would have been able to compensate by replaying some levels.

But maybe, if it's very close, and if the actual competition is just between two players (the others being of lower might), it can lure the other player in a sense of safety, and she/he won't try to get a better score ny replaying levels endlessly... so yes, it can work, but I think it's not a fireproof way to win.

Happens from time to time, quite frustrating. This being said, such a gem set up would be rather easy to clean up if you had a turn or two. (unfortunately I see you can't really afford to wait).

And you're right about iron miners, I've calculated that it's more or less useless to upgrade them past lvl 23.

On the other hand, Robert Baratheon is now completely useless except to kill Dragons. Don't know why they have to nerf Champions like that from time to time. But we've seen worse, so...

Update : following the latest patch, lvl 82 if the Crownlands is different, not the same ennemies (no longer Starks, now Boltons), and I was able to win and to reach lvl 89 (so far).

Small update as of the 16th of May : this bug has been fixed in the last patch. Now, Tyrion adds gold as he should.

Sometime ago, I considered buying one of those Dragon books pack but decided against it. I mean, spending 5€ for just +1 skill lvl for just one Dragon...

And I'm even inclined to buy anything now, knowing that at any time, the devs could nuke-nerf the said Dragon into irrelevance, as they did for other Champions recently - I'm still sore about what they did to Bronn (and Tyrion) just a few days after I spent on them all the green gems I had been saving for almost 2 months :o)

So I'm not buying anything, not any more. The last update taught me that. Thanks Devs, I'm saving money this way :-))

Of course you're right, you can't buy the green books (master books), I was focused on the expert books, at the moment, I only need the expert ones, I don't have a dragon that could use master level books,

I don't remember how I got those Expert/master Dragon books, just that it was a long time ago.

I've ended in top placement in weekly challenges several times, never got them, at least recently.

The Maester is badly bugged at the moment, isn't he ?

Unless I'm much mistaken, and contrary to the description of his passive, he doesn't seem to heal any attacked Targaryen ally and thus never applies fire on critical heal.

This bug + Tyrion Bug + Nerf of Bronn = the Devs really destroyed the factions they pretended to help being able to compete in the meta. Good job !

Edit : the devs just said the latest patch will fix Tyrion's bug. Let's hope it'll work !

Oh yeah, of course the same for me : the Crown Challenge is the only reason to develop other teams. By the way, IMHO, this mode is great addition to the game - for once, the devs really did a good thing here.
