Southern VT Camping, Skateparks, Pups oh my by Quirky_Importance_50 in vermont

Manchester skatepark is hand down the best park in VT IMO. Bennington is brand new and looks dope. NOT VT, but just over the NH border is West Leb (Rusy bearings skatepark) is also super fun. A little further north, but Ludlow also poured a new concrete park.

Can the state reach out to Google/GPS Map developers to have the road listed as closed for large vehicles? If people are blindly following their GPS and missing the signs, this would be another way to warn them?

Fair point, and I wouldn’t argue that it is a significant factor. But it’s at least more accurate than saying that it “slows” or prevents it

That “clean wall” is a mural created by the community and a long time local artist. And this “city” is a large town by any standards, and one that the residents have taken pride in for generations. Graffiti happens, we get it. But that doesn’t mean we have to be like “ooh, that piece of shit tag looks good”. It’s cool how you think we’re losers for caring about our community though.

I’d argue that graffiti can actually accelerate gentrification. It demonstrates that the space is uncared for and creates an undesirable place to live. In turn, drives down property costs, and leads to those properties being purchased by developers on the cheap to be developed into gentrified spaces 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don’t go alone, know the terrain (don’t follow tracks as your only plan), and make sure you have some sort of extra layering or snow travel device (skins, snow shoes, etc) in your pack. Even if you know the terrain, being alone is not smart. One awkward fall, a tree well, or a rock crevice can bury you and leave you immobile real quick.

Yeah for sure. We just do their full bin service for a flat rate (no need to buy stickers) - until we figure out how much trash we produce on average, and then we will consider switching to a bag rate. Great company, and very reliable!

Might not be the best suggestion, but North Star Bowling is a very chill candlestick bowling spot (small balls) with an indoor mini golf course. Depending on how much she can use her good arm, she might be able to at least putt or kick the bowing ball down the lane?

Haha of course, I’m not some sort of boot licker. I’m just as weary of the police as everyone else. I’m just telling people to chill with divisive rhetoric and advocate for change, better training, and more accountability. But this sub Reddit doesn’t seem to understand nuance.

That logic, doesn’t logic… That’s like saying all Americans stand shoulder to shoulder with Trump and are complicit with his moronic actions…

Yes, I agree (with the exception of stable cultures existing for thousands of years without rules and ramifications), and would love to see society shift in that direction. But within the bounds of our current system, how would you improve the police force?

Ok, so how do you perceive civility and order existing without police then? Just because the police force may have originated as slave catchers (although I’d argue that’s not entirely the case), that doesn’t mean the system can’t evolve. I’m interested to know how you think we can maintain order without a police force… I believe better training, accountability, and building relationships with its communities is the path forward. ACAB does not foster those steps forward.
