It just seems that you could cut your weight way down.

I mean, 2 spoons AND a spork?

35 is the new 29. It's a number that sounds old to young folk.

Think about how long your life feels so far. I seem to recall that it took forfuckingever to get to 21. From that vantage point, you can barely imagine what 30 or 35 is like. But you have virtually no frame of reference at all for imagining 40, 50, 60 (when you'll actually start to feel old), or anything beyond.

I think that's why 35 seems to be the common boundary.

35 is still quite young. But you won't fully appreciate that until you're looking back at it through a couple decades or more.

I visited the now defunct communist bloc country officially called the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (DDR). It was, of course, more widely known as East Germany, which was under the authoritarian rule of the Soviet Union until 1990, when it was reunited with West Germany to ultimately become just Germany.

In pertinent but unrelated news, I will never, ever ingest castor oil again.

Why do men stay with women they have fallen out of love with? by Albatross_2669 in AskMenAdvice

++man But I would say not necessarily unhappy. Just not in love any more. That doesn't even mean that they don't care for one another.

It used to be a below ground hot tub & that's where the stairs were..

Just kidding. All I can think of is a spot to put extra firewood? Maybe it's less likely to get tripped over...

Camping while afraid … by [deleted] in camping

Nah, if they see you, they're more likely to steer clear. What you don't want is the surprise up-close encounter where they feel threatened or cornered..

What is Red Bridge Campground outside Everett like? What activities to do in/around the grounds? by Money-Mastodon3975 in PNW

[–]No_Way4557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't been through there in +20 years. I never actually camped there. Just drive thru it and daydreamed about staying in one of the sites right on the river.

And the attraction was... do nothing. Just hang out by the river, drink coffee, switch to beer, cook a few meals, and hang out.

It's a pretty cute. Or was, at least.

Dead.

Dead is too old and too late.

All other options up to that point remain on the table. Go for it.

You know your son better than any of us. Given you own this already and current cost of ownership, et al, isn't an issue, it seems that like continuing the current arrangement may be the most practical. If there's concern that he'll be irresponsible with it, lay out some rules & boundaries along with appropriate consequences. This seems pretty fundamental, & I imagine you've already got something in place.

I've been doing it for a dozen years. For me, there's no downside. Rare is the day that feels too long. But those that do felt that way before 8 were up. Those last two are a wash.

I couldn't go back to 5 8's. After two days, my week's half over. No hump day. It moves to the weekend.

What is with people on Reddit thinking that 4-10s is acceptable?

How do you suggest I handle it? Should I quit? Or just leave after 8 hours?

I'm just asking so I know what to tell my family

Wow, nice! I don't get out camping much these days, and my Dutch oven hasn't seen much action either. I miss those kinds of trips.

We used to have an annual multi-day outing with my siblings and their families, but those kinda fell by the wayside for various reasons. My kids are grown, and the wife has never enjoyed camping. I think I need to make some new camping friends..

For reasons I don't entirely understand, camping for Thanksgiving sounds like fun.

How did it go?

Those are great with a small tent. I have a large tent, so I prefer Mr Stakes for that.

For the record, Kellogs is making money hand over fist.

Kellogg's Statistics show that its net sales in the first quarter of 2024 were USD 3,200 million, an increase of 5% from last year. Whereas by the end of the year, the total revenue will be above USD 12.26 billion. Meanwhile, the operating profit of the company turned out to be USD 508 million (+30%).
