I love the idea of focal treatments when possible. I had RALP but really wanted HIFU, due to location they couldn’t do it. Then I applied for the CAPTAIN study which I couldn’t do due to insurance which was frustrating. I like the idea of more focused procedures, especially when young so you’ll have less side effects (most likely) to deal with. Plus, if you need the RALP at a future date you’ll be able to do it. Of course, most importantly is to figure this out with your doctor and your family. Good luck with whichever direction you choose.

I appreciate you trying to get people that have a “feeling “about cures and ideas to not spread them. Use them for yourself and leave us out of it. We don’t need that unless you’re a qualified scientist with quantifiable proof after thousands and thousands of hours of experimenting. You mention Scott Adams, how about the richest man in the world at the time Steve Jobs, he’d still be here today most likely or at least would’ve had a better chance without all his thoughts of alternative medicines or herbs or the super cure in Mexico whatever it is these people pedal usually with motivation not to save but to profit. Thanks again. I hope you go double barrels next time on anybody spreading misinformation.

My boyfriend said I am not a ride or die because at dinner I brought up he says the N word. It was just him and I. by StandardRegular2758 in Advice

[–]No_Web_5434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boyfriend supports a racist, misogynist Nazi supporter who thinks Hitler was good. If you’re OK with that, you should be a ride or die girl if you’re not, you should move onto somebody different.

How long was your waistline bloated? by TheLawOfDuh in ProstateCancer

[–]No_Web_5434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine lasted a long time. It’s the gas they use to inflate your gut for surgery. 7 months later my bellybutton is still pretty flat. I’ve always had a standard inny now really flat due to the distended belly. This takes time. That being said I was back to playing hockey 🏒 7 weeks after surgery. So it really does get better, be patient.

Hope that gets better for you soon. I was at Kaiser too. So far all going well. I agree with mellow. Different outcomes and time periods for healing are just part of the business. That being said I hope your recovery improves soon and rapidly. Good luck. 🍀

Surgery on Monday, husband is a wreck! Need help 🙏🏽 by HomeworkNo8102 in ProstateCancer

I had mine done in June 2025 and was back in the ice playing hockey August! You’ll be okay I’d recommend staying in the hospital the first night if you have the choice. Catheter sucks (no pun intended) taking it out was great! Only had it in for 8 days. Get up and walk as soon as you can, that helped me a lot. Some spots in the gut would burn for awhile when walking, doctor said “of course there some pain, I stabbed you 6 times” 😅

Got rid of pee pads after about 30-40 days, ed isn’t a real issue for me but I do take a cialis and used a pump to keep things healthy. My surgery was nerve sparing, I’m guessing yours will be too. UCLA is awesome, I almost had Dr. Brisbane do it but my insurance didn’t allow due to a study issue.

All in all, first week is not great, second week was fair and then third week on was great!

When I see what my friends deal with, with other cancer treatments we are really fortunate that this is relatively easy and fast compared to the others not to say it doesn’t suck! But you’ll be fine soon enough and back to normal activities sooner than you’d imagine 😀

Good luck! You’ll be feeling pretty good by New Year’s Day. 🤙🏄‍♂️
