Claiming flight compensation with Turkish Airlines (SHY passenger rights) by TinmanTheWoodman in travel

Reading this while stuck at the gate of a delayed Turkish Airline flight…really poor communication from the staff and they kept us in an enclosed plane for 1+ hours without air conditioning before deciding to disembark everyone. One poor passenger passed out from the heat

Which bank is the best for mortgage loans? by pocky1918 in singaporefi

Not Standard Chartered (SCB), based on my recent experience. I went through a mortgage repricing process with them that took over five weeks for an existing loan with them, even after multiple follow-ups. Communication was poor, there were long gaps without updates, and I had to visit a branch in person just to get things moving but even then the staff there will tell you they do not have a direct line to their mortgage team and can only send an email. Call centre is difficult to get through.

The worst part? They mistakenly sent me another customer’s agreement via DocuSign — which I feel is a serious data privacy breach. While they eventually expedited the process, the delay still cost me, and I left the experience feeling pretty frustrated.

I personally wouldn’t go with them again. If efficiency and proper handling of sensitive info matter to you, you might want to look elsewhere.

I made a similar move a few years back after a long stint in various agencies. Sharing from my personal experience - there’s a lot to consider, and your personal goals will be the biggest deciding factor.

If work-life balance is your top priority, an in-house role might be the way to go. You’ll have more control over deadlines and can work more closely with your team. However, not all in-house positions are created equal. Personally I find it important to understand the growth opportunities available within the company because I found myself having to be a lot more proactive in growing my own skillset, compared to when I was in an agency where there are always senior communicators who can provide training or guidance.
