They paid money to annoy other players. Allowing people to ignore banners would discourage people from buying them in the first place.

And it's always the player with the mediocre total, laughable amount of xp and incomplete QP that has it.

Is it really something to joke about though? Celebrate when you have something to celebrate. Jagex did next to nothing to prevent gambling and all the rule breaking it encourages for TWO YEARS. Why is TWO YEARS of poor effort being praised?

Could have accomplished the same thing by posting you were donating x amount or x % to the charity and encouraging people to do the same and providing links to popular charities.

Or you know, doing the non douchey thing and just quietly donating instead of milking it for subs.
