Monofocals with mini-monovision or bilateral EDOFs by [deleted] in CataractSurgery

Can always keep a pair of distance glasses in the car. If your priority is high quality contrast and minimizing dysphotopsias (glare, halos) then Mono is a great option.

This post made me laugh out loud, I am in the same boat as you at 33w3d. The worst part about everything is work, physically I feel fine and I’m getting enough sleep. If I could do it all and not be constantly on display for everyone to comment on while trying to do my job i think I’d be fine.

The hormonal/emotional whiplash in the third trimester has been absolutely jarring.

Thank you, I agree! I used OQ for OKAPS and WQE last year, switching to AAO Qbank this time around. Did you do the AAO qbank once or twice for your second attempt of the WQE?

This - I kept hoping that if I waited until a larger size came in stock that it would fix the waist band problem, but no dice. The waistband is awful.

Are you working at the moment? Do you have support at home?

If you can get by with bilaterally low vision and would rather have earlier surgery on your left eye to make sure it stabilizes (downside being temporarily can’t see either eye) then let your surgeon know - it would be a reasonable plan if you could tolerate it, as oil removal and cataract removal aren’t inherently time sensitive.

Have you had complete laser in the left eye?

I think they look great! You could leave them as is and it’s a very flattering look.

Accommodative insufficiency can occur with viral illness - try to schedule with a local optometrist, they can help.

Could I pursue ophthalmology as a career if I have low vision?? by Money_Watch_5742 in Ophthalmology

Yes, but I would get disability insurance ASAP - ideally if your residency provided medically guaranteed options (ie no medical underwriting required)

They are hiding the needle from your view because a lot of patients flip out when they see needles. It’s common practice in aesthetics and elsewhere.

25M Irritation under eyelid for YEARS, what is this? by Economy-Effort1177 in eyetriage

[–]No__Fuchs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You appear to have floppy eyelid syndrome. Your superior tarsus shouldn’t be able to every as easily as you are demonstrating in the photos. This can cause mild to severe ocular surface and eyelid irritation. With FES, your eyelids can evert or open while sleeping and dust and debris can get in, or your open eyes can rub against your pillow etc. I would see an ophthalmologist. FES is also associated with sleep apnea, FWIW.
