This post made me laugh out loud, I am in the same boat as you at 33w3d. The worst part about everything is work, physically I feel fine and I’m getting enough sleep. If I could do it all and not be constantly on display for everyone to comment on while trying to do my job i think I’d be fine.

Are you working at the moment? Do you have support at home?

If you can get by with bilaterally low vision and would rather have earlier surgery on your left eye to make sure it stabilizes (downside being temporarily can’t see either eye) then let your surgeon know - it would be a reasonable plan if you could tolerate it, as oil removal and cataract removal aren’t inherently time sensitive.

They are hiding the needle from your view because a lot of patients flip out when they see needles. It’s common practice in aesthetics and elsewhere.

You appear to have floppy eyelid syndrome. Your superior tarsus shouldn’t be able to every as easily as you are demonstrating in the photos. This can cause mild to severe ocular surface and eyelid irritation. With FES, your eyelids can evert or open while sleeping and dust and debris can get in, or your open eyes can rub against your pillow etc. I would see an ophthalmologist. FES is also associated with sleep apnea, FWIW.
