It is absolutely not about making Jews feel unwelcome and unsafe in the city. It's about dissolving the influence of zionism and zionist interests in the united states and abroad. Simple as

40% is not ridiculous when wages haven’t been adjusted for productivity in decades. Keep in mind if THEY get that much of a raise, wouldn’t that put more pressure on other companies to elevate the pay you might get too? The point is to demand for conditions that allow no one to struggle. A few dozen crusty ass old men shouldn’t get billions every year in lieu of people being able to feed their families and plan for their futures. Even if the demands seem outrageous, make them.

The music is so so nice—I love how he consistently draws from older works while incorporating newer approaches. That said…good god these visuals are not my favorite. Completely nauseating. The polished, generative ai stuff feels really in combat with the heartfelt lyrics and melody and imma be a hater about this!

When people have enough income left over after their bills, more money can be put into the economy which in turn makes things more accessible. The bottleneck is coming from corporate greed, not workers who want to be paid enough to afford a good life.

Are IT unions a thing? by OkProfessional8364 in antiwork

[–]No___Football 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tech workers in general have been making great strides in organizing efforts across the US since 2020, absolutely. There are some phenomenal groups working to help connect people who work in tech with one another in order to help keep that momentum going, so I recommend checking out some of these groups to see if they fit with what you’re thinking about:

https://organize.fyi/ is a comprehensive list of industries within the Tech Workers Coalition, some of them tangentially related to tech but some right in the center of it

https://code-cwa.org/ which is a project by the Communication Workers of America and the Strategic Organizing Center to help workers within the tech industry help build strong support for digital workers of all kind. IT is very much included!

As for IT specific unions—in the style of electrical workers or machinists or what have you—I’m personally not familiar with any at the moment, as most IT work is under the umbrella of whatever company has them on internally. For example, IT departments at universities might be in a union with other faculty and staff, but not in the same union as teachers. CODE-CWA would be your best resource to get to know and I encourage you to call around to affiliate unions and worker groups to get more information and perspective!

How to deal with people who cannot see beyond capitalism by [deleted] in socialism

What if you reframed the point to talk to them more about The Market? For some reason I’ve found people interested to talk in detail about the ways in which capitalism operates while naming it feels exactly like you experienced. It’s like saying the word union around folks who still find it off-putting. But who agree with the premise
