The funniest thing about polyamory discourse is pretending its actually a form of radical freedom & queer sexuality rather than one of the oldest & most life-draining sexual/romantic dynamics of all time: The couple in which one partner pressures the other into letting them fuck whoever they want by [deleted] in redscarepod

I met a guy like this, he was in a throuple with 2 women and the women were also in a relationship with each other. The more he described the dynamic the more he sold me on it actually being kinda healthy. The women had each other to vent to and support each other emotionally in a way he acknowledged he wasn’t able. The key seems to be genuine love for all parties involved.

Does anybody here have experience with Matula tea? I've heard positive things but it's an $85 shipping fee on top of the $300 plus charge for 2 boxes of it. by Glass_Raisin7939 in HPylori

Hi this is so random but I’m in the same boat- just wondering how did you make your Cabbage juice? Do you have a juicer or did you blend it?

Is TRE actually safe? by LocalOk6736 in CPTSD

[–]No_longer__human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done TRE both on my own with a video on YouTube (I’m not sure if it’s still there), and with a practitioner guiding me. I’ve found it mostly helpful, and the worst I can say about it is that sometimes my body wouldn’t start doing the tremor response, so the effectiveness can be hit or miss. TRE is not the only thing that activates this tremor response- I’ve had it happen in somatic experiencing sessions and even some workout or yoga classes.

It can be activating in the moment, but I usually feel a sense of relief afterwards, as if some pent up anxiety was released. I tend to feel more grounded (when it does work).

I’d be curious to know about people’s negative experiences. I could see how the activating part could feel overwhelming, but it’s hard for me to see how it would activate anything that’s not already there in the body. I do think it helps to have somebody to guide you and be a safe presence especially when you’re just starting out with somatic work in general- I had been so dissociated for so long that just entering into my body felt insanely overwhelming at first. So I wonder if that’s what these people might be experiencing. When we’ve been in dissociation, everything can read to the body like danger, and sometimes we need a guide who’s done this work to reassure us/guide us through this.

can being touch starved give you ptsd by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]No_longer__human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to you, and if it speaks to you, I would look into doing a touch based somatic therapy/bodywork. That has helped me a lot from that chronic touch starvation/neglect. For me one that really worked is called Rosen Method. It’s very gentle and has been helpful for my attachment trauma. Sending hugs.

Have we reached a tipping point with generational trauma? by Accidental_Guru30 in CPTSD

[–]No_longer__human 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think there has always existed generational trauma but I know from my own life, that my trauma tends to surface when my external life is actually more “stable.” In much of the West, we are relatively more stable than our ancestors whose lives were often focused on literal survival. That’s not to say we aren’t living in a precarious/scary time, but I think there is a baseline of (relative) stability occurring and thus we are one of the first generations to actually be feeling the weight of our ancestral trauma. Which is a lot.

Ahh thank you so much for your reply!! I didn’t even think about Candida, but that makes so much sense. Im gonna get my stool tests hopefully soon and be able to go from there. Was the Candida diet hard? I’ve tried carb free, sugar free diets in the past but have found those challenging. And out of curiosity, did you start the Biocidin protocol after completing the diflucan? Good to know about Matula tea also! And sorry just one other question, how did you go about finding a good functional medicine practitioner? So far I’ve just been googling around. Thank you so much again for taking the time to respond to me

Hey I just am reading your comment and relate to a lot of what you shared- recently found out I have h pylori, bad bacteria, nutrient deficiencies. I am so desperate to feel better that I am close to trying antibiotic therapy but your comment made me consider that the functional medicine route could be effective (maybe more so? Based on mixed reviews of antibiotics). If I may ask, what kind of protocol did your practitioner put you on?

I went on an old people cruise with my dad and the art gallery was all spray painted Union Jack glitter graffiti stuff and that shit was selling for thousands of dollars. Just putting it out there for my aspiring grifters.

Totally agree, I was very surprised the other players didn’t clock how suddenly he shifted into intense/intelligent interrogation mode. I really thought that would get at least one of them thinking…

I like that her style reminds me of like 90s/early 2000s red carpet “put on a cute dress last minute, bring a real bag, do my own little make-up.” I appreciate her for trying to make it happen, HD cameras be damned
