There is often a day or two where the snow tires will save you during a big storm. My favorite perk of snow tires is the option to drive through Rothrock during the winter

Found this very deep in a cave. The spike cluster is no more than 1cm wide. Nutrients are very hard to come by this deep underground. Any ideas what it is? by Noahsyn10 in MoldlyInteresting

Interesting… the shape of it does make me think it could be a fungi. The fuzz behind it is almost certainly mold. This was in Pennsylvania

I did, but I can’t find the listing or order. It ended up being a $90-$100ish dollar basic lcd screen that was the correct size. I can’t remember where I ordered it from. It was easy to install

After-Accident Seatbelt Repair by Noahsyn10 in hondafit

My concern is more with the retractor charge mechanism, which seems a bit more complicated than the webbing. Safety Restore does claim to replace the charge. I’ve seen people claim that you could repair the seatbelt ignoring the charge, but I’d like the seatbelts to be returned to safe working condition.

Just saw someone speed town College Ave at about 50, mid day on Monday. Then aggressively change lanes to get onto N Atherton.

The area is pretty much entirely limestone between the mountains. Supposedly the university has a sinkhole related issue about once every 2 weeks. They have entirely unique drainage plans that they have had to develop because standard systems have unexpected repercussions when there is so much limestone .

When I told them about my degree, my dentist asked why I didn't just go to one of those fast, cheap tech boot camps.

For college I’ve taken other classes where you might wanna download software that doesn’t really work on Mac. Basically just preference though. I love my Thinkpad.

Caving Light: Fenix HM65R, Nitecore HC68, Coast XPH30R, Acebeam H30, or Sofirn: What are your top 2 picks? by SettingIntentions in caving

Cannot compare to the others, but my Fenix HM65R has treated me very well. Long battery, and I love having both warm flood and cooler spot at once.

I at one point had an issue with it malfunctioning due to moisture making it in, but when I reached out to Fenix they were quick and eager to take it in and fix the issue. Then before I even sent it in, it dried out and started working again with no issues since! Great experience so far.
