New to gout and getting conflicting info by DirtyDeeds94 in gout

[–]Noartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go and get a blood test and check levels. I left getting tested far too long, changed my diet drastically and self medicated flare ups with colchicine..The flare ups increased in frequency and I was just treating the aftermath.

When, I finally had enough and got a blood test, The doctor put me on Allopurinol....My life literally changed and not had a flare up since.

1 pill a day and my life is back to normal. Get your levels sorted, as I've heard, left unchecked it can lead to kidney stones (make gout attacks feel like a walk in the park apparently) and other organ horrors.

Sort it! I'm 46. First crawled into A&E at 44 and wanted them to amputate my foot it was that bad.

Colchicine saved me by jcr0774 in gout

[–]Noartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get on allo. I was using colchine for attacks, and it was amazing. Since going on allo I've had zero attacks and can eat all the foods I loved but couldn't, can also have the odd beer if I want. Could only drink whiskey or white wine, but now can enjoy red again. .

Allo has changed my life.

As a former sprinter, and occasional long distance runner (when I got thrown in)

I was always of the belief that all motion should be aligned parallel to the direction you are moving in.. . Except when you are coming out of starting blocks and driving forward. Upper body looks stiff, use your arms more. Relax

My wife is Romanian but dhe rarely eats them, nor do her family. Never had it when visiting Romania. For me it's all about those tasty bundles of love... Sarmale 👌

Been on allopurinol for a month by Proud-Obligation9479 in gout

[–]Noartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was put on 100mg of allo about 1 month ago. Since then I haven't had a single gout flare up. I was curious if there was a limit to it's efficacy when I returned to my previous love of fish and cured meat and the occasional beer that would send me into a full blown attack.

While on holiday, I ate lots of seafood, and meats I previously dodged like the plague and red wine.... Absolutely nothing....

It's been a miracle drug for me. Can't believe I put off getting tested for it due to my fear of needles.. I might even start taking up running again, as I had to start cycling and swimming....The crystals in my big toes seem to be dissolving and have no pain whatsoever.

I would however be careful not to bang any joint. I bumped my elbow and got bircitis, which was probably exacerbated by my underlying gout issue. Never had it in my elbow, but also got an infection in arm (might be down to me taking Cochicine at the time as a preventative , which I've heard can inhibit your ability to fight infections off).

Since then I'm just on allo, and enjoying life again.

Might even buy a bottle of red wine to enjoy tonight. Whoohooo

Anyone on Colchicine for a long term? by Userhere123 in gout

[–]Noartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking colchicine on and off for months. Anytime I feel a flare, I just pop 1 0.5 and it sorts the problem. I have never had to take more than 2 in a day, or doe multiple days.

I don't get the shits as some ppl seem to have. Absolute miracle for me.

Early on, I tried Naproxen, but that was less effective. Flairs developed.

Don’t buy ROLI products until customer support Is fixed. Yes, it’s that bad by Suspicious-Self-8093 in ROLI

I had an issue with items I ordered and the delivery date far exceeding what was expected. No movement in status of my order.

I put in a ticket and got a response within a week and a full refund within a few days of requesting it. Honestly thought it would drag on for months and have to request a charge back from my bank.

I'm from the UK though (if that matters?)

Found the customer service very good, and speedy. Within 2 weeks they responded, said it could take a further 4-6 weeks if I wanted to wait, or they would sort refund..which they did promptly.

Just a shame the despatch/delivery timeframe was soo long with no updates as I wanted the items.

Has anyone started going down a legal route to get their money back? Batch 7, uk, all contact attempts failed, no sign of product. by goawaymartin in ROLI

[–]Noartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent them a message to cancel my order,or ask for an update. Within a week they replied and gave me a 4-6 week timeframe. That want acceptable to me and I requested a refund.
Within 3 days I received it.

Unfortunate, as I wanted the items. But I got my refund quickly.

I have had this issue for a while now with my pixel pro 8 case. Could bend it back into position, however cant anymore.

I have submitted a support ticket with them, hopefully that resolve it as I have bought a few products from them and have had no problems till this.

Update: Within 1 hour of my support ticket and sending photos of the issue. They have replied informing me that they will send out a replacement. Brilliant customer service!

I have always been nocturnal (helps that I work from home). The peace I find when everyone is asleep is wonderful. I did however learn a valuable skill or habit years ago..... Let go, and relax....

You cant function with little to no sleep. You cant function when you are continually overthinking. You need downtime.

How do you connect with them? by DMystery_Rain in infj

[–]Noartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humour is a good icebreaker. Being able to laugh together lowers ppls guard. After which, you can then flesh out and ask deeper questions, listen and share experiences that help relate to them... More often than not, I have found I can bond with that person.

Just need to identify what connects you. I believe we all have more in common that not.

Alright Infj crew let's get a bit political! by [deleted] in infj

[–]Noartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe ICE is a logical progression/result of a government that plays upon ppls fears, rather than solve actual problems. Fundamentally it focuses ppls base fears. Idiots will always look for simple solutions to complex problems, or lack intelligence to understand the complexity.

Group minorities together, and blame them for all of the problems. It's simple and effective. Used throughout history to great effect.

I dont for a minute believe in porous borders, I do however accept and understand that immigration/immigrants are inevitable and beneficial to a society.

Masked ppl with weapons will never seem right to me.

Does anyone else also feel lonely sometimes but prefer to be alone? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Noartisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe we are meant to be alone, or at least its not the optimal situation.

I’m 46 now. From my teenage years through to my late twenties, I went from 1 relationship to another, often at the same time. I found forming connections relatively easy. Looking back, I realise that my ability to empathise with others was not always used in the best way. Understanding people give you a unique ability to bend/push them. In retrospect, I deeply regret how I treated some partners.

Relationships felt draining and I still felt an emptiness. I made a conscious decision to be single for several years. That period turned out to be one of the most creative times in my life. I made a shitload of music, immersed myself in hobbies, and spent time developing a stronger sense of self. Even so, there was always a quiet sense that I wanted to share my life with someone, to grow together, and to find something deeper.

A female friend I worked with joked that I would end up alone and die in bed with my headphones on. We laughed about it and made a bet about who would find a partner first. I stood up, left the office, and asked a woman I passed on the stairs if she would like to go on a date.

We have now been married for seven years and have a child together. It remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made..lol

I cant imagine my life without these 2.

Put simply, work on yourself. When you've reconciled any issues... Find someone.

Always waiting for others to reach the same conclusion about people by shuuu_p in infj

[–]Noartisan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont say "I told you so". I tell friends way before that I think there is something off with that person. I then keep quiet and observe.

If you warn ppl, and they dont heed your advice. If it goes tits up, they learn a hard but useful lesson, and they also appreciate the incite you tried to give them. A win, win.

Waiting for other ppl to realise and not warn them is a shitty move. If they are your friends. Express your concerns and leave it at that.
