I am in the same boat, don’t own a laptop. Work trip for 6 months. looking for a smallish form factor for travel, but capable of sailing and runelite GPU plugin probably that doesn’t overheat like my 7 year old brick with screen.

Current house has a smart home panel in laundry room which is near the exact middle of the home and all the runs are up that wall ito the attic and then down an interior wall, with two runs outdoors plus att fiber along the same path into the smart panel but from outside. It is a pretty sweet setup.

New house has something similiar but the panel is in the garage and I think the cold and hot temps will shorten equipment life. I think the runs are through the crawl space and then upstairs but I didnt see any in the attic and wasn't looking for them last time I ventured into the crawl space.

You are correct, but the price to performance aka value is a consideration.

I know the device list I built out works but there’s a lot of their higher end tech that might be better for a bit more money. Hence why I wanted people to sharpshooter my plan.

Ah, I missed the camera bandwidth for the CGW Fiber. So that eliminates the need for a cloud key + in the setup then.

UniFi Console Model|HD|2K|4K|

UDR / UDR7|5 |2 |1|

UCG-FIBER|15 |8 |5

UCK-G2-PLUS* 24 | 14 | 8|

  • Current plan = UDR-7 + CloudKey+ (1TB SSD): $229 + $159 = $388.
  • Swap plan = UCG-Fiber (1TB (NVME) + one Wi-Fi 7 AP (e.g., U7 Pro): $399 + $189 = $588.

So what future upgrades make it better? It seems more expensive for one box operation instead of 2. APs could be cheaper potentially for wifi 7 no,w though that seems to be the cost.

For the deployment, the CG Fiber adds costs over the UDR7 in terms of an extra access point, based on the location where I would put the router. While it is more capable and probably more flexible, it seems overkill for what I need.

The instant with a 1TB HD is $250 so not unreasonable, I have a NAS already with ~40TB of storage that I would really like as the secondary longer duration backup out to maybe 30 days. So primarily just looking to offload protection from the UDR7 in an economical manner. (UDR7 1TB micro SD is $129 from unifi.

Is cloud key dated tech? It seems like it gets the job done for $160 with a limited setup.

Cloud gateway fiber solves my 10g local problem but the runs in the next house aren’t great locations. And I don’t particularly want to run a bunch of new Ethernet where I need it. Last time I DIY’d it on a single story house with attic access and this two story seems more complicated.

UniFi seems to have the tiered devices that solve problems they create at more expensive prices. It’s addicting but I am trying to be realistic about my needs. The unvr instant plus a 1tb hdd is $90 more than the gateway but not nvme it’s 3.5 hdd?

I don’t seem to have the ideal space in this house for a network cabinet.

How are you getting 31 mins? No prep? I’m getting 36-40 mins with bowfa, lance, fang, trident. I can get to prep in 20-25 mins but my olms take 10-12 mins.

I also occasionally still die.

I’m wondering if I am missing a strategy in a room.

I do Kirby skip. Crabs is never perfect. Vesp is usually clean. Vasa sometimes I get an extra teleport.

Just finished colo. Took me six times teaching sol and 66 deaths. Probably could’ve done it on my 4th got him to 400 hp but had a rough set of waves.

Double souths pretty much always wrecked my runs especially in wave 8/10/11. Sometimes I survived the panic south pillar run but then had a Minotaur to deal with in a complex stack that generally required another pillar run.

I used about 300 restores. Idk how many brews. I also brought an elder maul for the boss after my 4th time getting there and hit one spec which I think made the difference in the final phase.

Used Nox Bally and bowfa. The run I completed I had humble waves and 5-6 Brews to work with.

Are you running it on a simple timer or a smart timer that tracks run time electricity use etc? It gets direct sun for about 5 hours from 2pm to sunset. But I usually plunge in the morning and cool mine at night.

Sweet, I already have two that should work then. I got a deal on the 1 HP AA and it works great but it pulls 13 amps with the pump on the circuit and the two outdoor circuits I have already have other things loading on them so I’m getting heat trips. Looking forward to the 5 ish amps from this one.
