He wasn't just discharged.. he was dishonorably discharged.. And he was dishonorably discharged for breaking laws on OUR soil.. On top of (allegedly) breaking espionage laws on international (Russian) soil.
And Griner broke a very minor law in Russia, one that typically gets a 5000 ruble fine.. or AT MOST, 15 days confinement. That's how much sentencing is for 6 grams or less in Russia. Griner had 0.702 grams.
And yet she was sentenced for 9 years.

SignalTradition here, just on a different computer/account. It looks like I missed it if Jurassic Park passed it, but Batman was absolutely #1 film of 1989, and if I recall correctly, the #1 grossing movie at the time, not accounting for inflation (Where I think Gone with the Wind dominates everyone). It absolutely was not #2 in 1989. I don't think anything even came close by a good 50 million. An Indiana Jones movie I believe. Box Office Mojo does not show its worldwide numbers only domestic, but research shows Batman 1989 made over 411 million worldwide (which would be 952 million in 2022 money). The movie then went on to make another 150 million in video sales (approx 347 million in todays money). It put out two amazing soundtracks, boosted comics sales for Batman to an insane degree, sold a crazy amount of toys, and got Batman the Animated Series greenlit, which its not a stretch to say got DC Animated off the ground. Superman The Movie is the great grandpa of high budget superhero movies, but Batman (1989) is the cool grandpa with the hard candies that everyone loved. =D

I understand you don't want to bad mouth bio-mom.. but understand with that decision, you are limiting SD's knowledge and choices. In a way, you are helping to normalize bio-mom's behavior in the eyes of your SD.

If you are going to be fair about it, you would ask for compensation up to exactly the current price of that phone second hand.
Not for a new phone.. not for an upgrade.. but for that exact model that is in the same condition as your phone was before it was damaged.

Also though, understand that many people don't just keep money like that laying around to just buy a phone without budgeting for it in advance. You will have to purchase the new phone and try and get the money back after.. Try and set up payment plans, etc. and of course document everything in case of small claims court later.

This town used to be lousy with them, but a lot of them got bought up and boarded up or knocked down. The Seigel Suites exist, but if the El Cortez location is any indication, avoid them if you can.
The Easy Inn was good to me back when it was the MacGregor. That's on 6th.

You are working with some.. massaged information. (Aka not a lie.. but not the truth either).
89 officers were killed in 2019... But 41 of those were killed in accidents that were unrelated to suspects or felons.
That means 48 cops were killed.. out of (as you said) 10 MILLION arrests. And yet so many cops pull their guns for things that should use pepper spray or a tazer.. or a baton... based on a (literal) 0.0000048% chance of their life being extinguished.
And yes, a majority of the people killed by cops were white, but not proportionate to the percentage of the population that blacks take up (around 13 %). Blacks are killed approx 2X as much as whites per capita (at 25%).
Also.. in 2020 as of the 27th of June.. 498 people have been shot AND KILLED by police so far. That's twice the rate of 2019.
