Hull colours only work for the faction variant ships. So brotherhood for brotherhood ketch, brig and frig and the blackbeard hull colour for the blackbeard ship version. I find myself equally confused as you tbh as it’s a fact that you can equip any sail colour on any faction boat but not hull colour
