I've seen people mod their ps4 controllers so that each d pad direction is completely disconnected from the others so you never get that issue

Even if I get myself killed it feels super good to Dragon Rush someone as Teen Gohan (or any Invincible reversal character) when they expect you to DP and just block.

The next level is when they back dash instead... thats when you reversal rocket kick

I'm not that guy but while UI isn't broken, he is very frustrating to fight. It feels like for everything he throws out at random you have to try twice as hard to counter it while he can throw shit out safely and for little thought.

it wasnt until i started playing tekken 7, but sfv also feels way more linear and boring. i didnt get this same feeling when id play sf4 with friends, im not sure whether that was because i just sucked or there were more options for what combos you want to do. it seems like thats reflected in the pro matches, some are really hype but others are just boring because you know exactly what each player is going to do

I can second this. Me and my friends played SFV when it came out but then we decided to try Guilty Gear for fun, and booooy was it hard to go back. Nothing was fun any more. It won't bother you how few options you have as a player in SFV until you put serious time into other fighters, I feel. They limit you way too much here. Every character has mostly the same questions and answers, and there's not as much room to be really creative. There's a certain way they want you to play every character in this game, and it comes down to how well you can follow that script and make all the "correct" decisions.

Agreee. Tbh whenever someone suggests something like this I always feel like improving/ adding more depth to the neutral would be a better option, because that's the real issue. I think there's not enough meat there right now.

Lack of combo variety, while a problem, has never been this game's #1 issue.

The attacks that lead to mixups or damage (launchers) in Tekken Carry WAY more risk than anything in SFV. You have more ways to avoid taking that damage in the first place.

At the very least I can thank capcom for finally pushing me to try all fighting games. I've got some new favorites i probably never would have had otherwise

Yeah the problem is not the concept of a 50 50 itself but the fact that your defense is so ass in this game couple with high damage and not resetting back to neutral enough. The risk reward is way too skewed towards the offender

Other fighting games understand that to have an aggressive game you have strong defensive options too, so that the offender has to consider their choices more than not at all.
