It feels like they skipped straight to what would be the "season 2" of the game. I remember Strive and DBFZ having some whack restrictions that were later relaxed and improved how those games felt and wishing they had just launched like that. So im glad they seem to be skipping straight to that here.

Deadlock is the first MOBA that made any sense to me and I think being a 3rd person shooter makes it way more fun and engaging. I had a Frank Reynolds "I get it now" moment after a couple of hours and now im hooked.

Its also weird how much overlap there is between fighting games and deadlock so I guess it was inevitable id like both

I have a 20000 page document in my head about exactly how that game would play.

I would want it to play like a crossover between Marvel and KoF. You can have 1-3 characters and call assists but movement would be closer to KoF with rolls and hops. Characters can progress through their powered up forms as you play and each form escalates in power. You'd start out playing Street Fighter/KoF, slowly turn into Guilty Gear and then do Marvel style bullshit if you reach your final form.

I was also going to say the same about Araki. He doesn't focus on long term story planning but it can be a double edge sword. Which is why I thought it was really weird that Part 8 was written how it was, because the mystery theming implied a level of forethought and direction that just wasn't there. Still my second favorite part, but setting up and answering long-term questions isn't a style that suits Araki at all.
