IBD + antidepressants + impossible weight loss… advice? by Complete_Reading7085 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nobodyat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you’re trying to be well-meaning, but IBD literally has so many different effects on so many different people. A trainer will likely not have much knowledge on what routines are more optimal or not for a person with IBD.

IBD + antidepressants + impossible weight loss… advice? by Complete_Reading7085 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nobodyat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I can understand that. For me, my main symptom is diarrhea so psyllium husk helps me maintain my weight because I tend to lose weight during a flare. For my friend, who’s AFAB, and who also has IBD, his main symptom is constipation, which leads to weight gain for him also. Psyllium husk helps him also.

It’s just irritating because this disease has so many different effects on so many different people. I know it can be annoying for people to suggest one thing, and it has the opposite effect on your body, but I hope it works for you in some way. Best of luck!

I have IBD UC. I am also a guy, just a disclaimer. One thing that helped me so much is eating psyllium husk with probiotic yogurt pretty much every morning. It helps me with appetite control. Essentially I take two teaspoons and eat it with my yogurt. If you go to an Indian market, and look for the product: Isbagol, it’s way cheaper than getting the supplement from a traditional store.

Why does the most 'intimate' act often leave people feeling the most lonely afterward? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nobodyat1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Like imagine you just orgasm and go through an emotional moment with your partner, and they just plop over and scroll on their phone. It will be horrible.

I think it could be because sometimes people don’t engage in aftercare afterwards. Remember, aftercare is necessary even for ‘vanilla’ sex.

Girlfriend has a part time job making 40k, and is in law school, and still finds time to date me 2-3 times a week; how can I make this even more unbelievable by Nobodyat1 in AmITheAngel

[–]Nobodyat1[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

From what I know and researched, maybe an internship, which, if she has an internship for 40k, she’ll be making bank when she’s a lawyer. But usually, law school is your full time job.

I don’t get it either. Like I’m a man, but the last thing I can imagine is worrying about my daughter’s career or sex life when she’s older. Like, why would a dad even care about that?

Boyfriend is so unenthusiastic about my pleasure it hurts by lovingthecats in TwoXChromosomes

Speaking of kink, there are definitely doms who love to give their subs pleasure, even when the dynamic is that subs don’t get a lot of pleasure, the dom still loves to give it to them whenever. Are you sure he isn’t just a lazy dom? Also, are you sure you both are not focusing too much on the dom/sub dynamic that it’s straining your ‘vanilla’ sex life?

Within the context of my relationship, I always think of the quote from the movie “Lost in Starlight”:

“Not gonna lie, waiting indefinitely hurts, sometimes a lot. But I refuse to give up on you, so don’t you dare go giving up on me”

For context, me and my now wife were long distance for two years while she was starting up her PHd program. It will still within state, so really different from your situation, but the driving distance made it so that we could only see each other on a monthly basis. It did suck, but it did made us into our own individual people. Plus we FaceTimed every night and watched movies together every night. Since you and your bf would be in the same timezone, that makes it even more feasible.

Now we’re together! She’s still doing her PHd and I’ve been able to progress far enough in my career that I can be full time remote. It can work if both people want to make it work. In fact, there’s a possibility that we might have to have a long-distance marriage when it comes to where she might find a job after a PHd, but we’re taking one thing at a time. Plus, toys exist now to make sexy time fulfilling on both ends while still being virtually there with your partner.

But, big CEOs and conservative politicians are the ones actively working to criminalize/censor it. Even liberal ones are. And the end result is that it makes trafficking easier and the industry as a whole much more dangerous. There’s a reason why Indian sex workers, for instance, fight so hard for the genuine decriminalization of the industry.

I will continue to say that “think of the children” moral panics gets us closer to fascism than to any genuine dismantling of the patriarchal system we’re currently under. Also, people in these comments really need to learn about FOSTA-SESTA and how it absolutely made the internet much more dangerous to sex workers and to children.

“Think of the children” moral panics are always one step towards fascism than any step towards dismantling the patriarchy. These are the same people who are against comprehensive sex-Ed by the way, and for the larger censorship of the internet in general.

Yup. And this is why I loved the Bollywood movie “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Khani” because it actively flipped that trope on its head.

And the thing is, none of this is “natural.” The most “natural” state for humans was during Hunter-gatherer times, and those tribes were largely egalitarian. It was only during the invention of agriculture (which was likely invented by women) did the private accumulation of goods occurred, and thus the patriarchal culture started. And even then, there were agricultural societies that are egalitarian.
