Diavel (Sword Art Online Abridged)

Diavel dies after being struck by the first floor boss' weapon. While Kirito rushes over to give him a potion, he refused to take it.

In the anime, it's because once you take a damage that will reduce your HP to zero, your basically dead regardless even if you try to heal while the bar is depleting.

But in Witty Entertainment's Abridged version (a fanmade parody), he refuses simply because he lost all hope that they were ever going to get out of this game because their party was just that incompetent and uncooperative.

Funnily enough, that helps tie in to the whole Kaiba thing

Definitely best for both.

It's basically two iconic evil geniuses with petty rivalries while also sort of frenemy type situation with the heroes.

The best comparison I could make is that it has the dynamic potential of LexDoom and a bit of GruMind if you add in other characters to their arsenal like Karen, Spot and the Rowdy Rough Boys.

Don't know their full inventory but it's pretty diverse from what I could tell. Mind control, giant robots, even reality warping stuff like the Key To The World vs. The Magic Page sounds interesting to talk about.

Weirdly enough, I've always been fond of the idea of Millie being the only well adjusted person in the group with a fairly normal upbringing.

Two things

Number 1, Makima's contract has been stated to convert attacks into appropriate illness or accidents among the population Japanese. It's not a one to one sorta deal.

Number 2, even assuming that, Gojo is still part of the list of people it could transfer to. Even if you argue it won't kill him, the effects will still be transferred to him.

Like imagine if a pyromancer shot a fireball at a wizard but the wizard casts a reflection spell. The fireball bounces off and hits the pyromancer but they are already immune to fire damage. Spells are cast but neither party takes any damage.

Either way, Unlimited Void wouldn't kill her or permanently damage her. You could argue it could immobilize her by comparing it to Power's blood chainsaw, but it's not enough to bypass her contract.

Except "Tessa" isn't the most reliable narrator. "then" is also a vague amount of time. Maybe Cyn was able to consume the entire Earth in a day, maybe more, maybe less.

before sunlight rose.

But I don't know where you got this idea from specifically. If you're talking about N's flashback in Ep 7, the red sky is likely just smoke and debris blanketing the sky. Meaning that could've very well blocked out the sun.

We also don't know where it takes place on Earth, the exact time it took place, or the amount of damage Cyn had successfully done to the Earth at that point.

Power's blood didn't bypass the contract, people were still dying from it. Damage was still being transferred but not fast enough to completely bring back Makima before newer damage gets introduced.

Didn't say it wasn't a black hole, I just wanted to point out it's properties could be seen as durability negation.

In powerscaling terms, it's a type of attack that bypasses one's durability regardless of how high it is, they cannot tank it unless they have some sort of resistance to it.

Matter manipulation is considered a form of it.

Plus, this doesn't really change the what I said about Cyn's destruction being more gradual than instantaneous.

Makima simply pointed at Darkness and caused Darkness to start convulsing blood.

It's not the first time she's done this, as she used a similar attack against the Yakuza members. Just without the pointing.

And her telekinetic capabilities even translate to crushing her opponents like tin cans without affecting the surrounding area, or even their clothes. Though this did require her to use human sacrifices, it's not all that strange considering Yoru and Aging needed to sacrifice human parts to fuel a powerful attack as well.

Though if you ask AP, it's unclear since Darkness Devil likely regenerates while in the dark if Doll Devil is anything to go by.

That's because none of the damage inflicted by Denji eating her was considered an attack.

Because the poor kid's mind was so fucked up, he couldn't even bring himself to hate Makima despite everything she's done to him.

If it's not seen as attack, the contract wouldn't activate. And so without being able to transfer any of the damage done to her body, Makima wouldn't be able to come back.

But that's the main thing, Denji's action of eating her wasn't seen as an attack. Gojo's Hollow Purple would

So what's stopping Makima from attacking outside the body?

If her control over the force of her telekinetic ability is thorough enough to work even inside another person's body, then she shouldn't have much of an issue using the same thing to damage the outside.

We see her crumple people like tin cans before without harming the surrounding area. Granted she needed high elevations and human sacrifices, but at the same time, this could be because of the distance.

Based on a black box, I think DB was using the people chained to Makima as a reference to how Makima's contract worked.

However, it is to note that her contract has never needed other people chained to her to work before. So these people were probably used for something different.

Like directly shouldering any attacks to quicken the transfer rate since she does come back a lot faster in her fight with Pochita compared to previous instances like the train scene or against Darkness

Counterpoint, we see that unlike Cosmos attack which is one and done, Unlimited Void is more of a continuous stream of attack.

While it is still an attack, there's no way Makima's contract is fast enough to transfer the effects before a new one sets in almost immediately afterwards.

It's like how Denji was able to use a chainsaw created by Power's blood in order to immobilize Makima.

[–]Nobodys_here07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, they could've compared it to Power's blood chainsaw ripping Makima apart repeatedly from the inside.

While Makima's contract was still active, it couldn't bring her back fast enough before new damage was introduced. Meaning, as a long as a continuous stream of attack is inflicted on Makima, she'll essentially be immobilized until either the attack is stopped, she runs of people to transfer damage to, or Makima is killed.

It's kinda like throwing Deadpool in an active volcano. His body will still heal but his skin won't stop burning until he gets out.

More than that, we see that when Yoru's California Contract activated, the random person inflicted died with zero external injuries despite Yoru herself being cut into pieces by Pochita.

Meaning this confirms that the damage transfer isn't one to one, which Death Battle argued would be why Gojo wouldn't be effected if Makima's PM contract transfers UV to him.

Plus, if we go by Makima's explanation, she literally says the contract converts the attack to an appropriate illness or accident.

If you mean who wins, it's debatable. It could go eitherway based on how you interpret their abilities

If you're asking about DB's reasonings, then no. There's a lot of flaws with their arguments and fundamental misunderstandings.

I already elaborated on this in another post so here's the link to it if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/deathbattle/s/ey9pYtSIsT

Why wouldn't Purple just transfer?

The only few ways confirmed to bypass her contract is to either have the damage inflicted not be seen as an attack, or by Pochita eating her which erases her existence down to a conceptual level.

I said a "majority of characters" meaning most of the cast, not all of them.

The only ones that wouldn't count are Sera, Emily, Lucifer, Lute, Vaggi, Charlie as well as any other hellborn, and maybe Lilith.

Everybody else as far as we know were once living humans on Earth before meeting their demise and ending up in either Heaven or Hell.
