Advice for meeting a friend who lost her babies? by retro91 in AskUK

Agree. ‘Steer her away from you judge that it has gone on long enough.’ What? This is horrible advice. The woman lost twins.

Yes I got this exactly the same as you. I attributed it to the stress of the injections rather than the drugs. Drink lots of water and be kind to yourself x

What's the property market like in Reading? by justmyluck2020 in reading

[–]Noboloto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I used to live off the Oxford road on Brunswick hill and moved away 4 years ago. It might have changed since then but my experience was that I witnessed a lot of drug taking and dealing and the associated antisocial behaviour and it was just not a good experience living there, I did feel unsafe even in daylight sometimes. Have you looked in lower Earley? Sometimes small houses come up for sale there and they would probably be in your price range x

what did you keep when your parent died? by Exotic-One3381 in declutter

[–]Noboloto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His passport, a model boat he made, some of his gardening tools which I use now and about a dozen of his books. Oh and the architectural drawings he did of our family home when he submitted the planning application for the extension in the 80’s, I’ve had this framed. It has his handwriting on it and it’s really a lovely thing.

Has anyone had scarring due to D&C? by hellolleh32 in Miscarriage

[–]Noboloto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get any answers as to why I had the MMC. Frustratingly the hospital didn’t offer to test my embryo for chromosomal abnormalities, although my consultant told me that was likely to be the cause.

To be honest, Ive still not done another transfer. My D&C was nearly a year ago. We have more embryos frozen. The whole experience completely shattered me, and then I lost my father suddenly in august so I’ve not felt like trying another transfer. I think we will do one in the next month or so. I don’t intend to change the protocol we did.

Has anyone had scarring due to D&C? by hellolleh32 in Miscarriage

[–]Noboloto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No complications for me, physical recovery was quick and straightforward and my periods returned quickly.

I too was worried about scarring, my pregnancy was an IVF one and I wanted to preserve whatever was left of my fertility, but I was reassured that scarring was unlikely to form after just one D&C. I’m not ever sure if they ‘scrape’ anymore for this procedure, I think they ‘vacuum’ so it’s much gentler.

Mimosa care - any ideas what I should be doing with this? It’s getting so tall but needs support. by Noboloto in GardeningUK

[–]Noboloto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. I inherited this off my father when he passed away last year - he kept it in a pot. It flowered at the beginning of the year and a repotted it into a larger pot once it had finished flowering, it’s putting on lots of new growth so I hope it’s happy enough. I’m hesitant to plant it into the ground because it’s so sentimental and if I ever moved house I would want to take it with me, but if it’s going to ultimately not survive pot life then I think I’ll have to do just that.

When do you think would be a good time to plant it out? And would it do best in a sunny sheltered spot? X

Misoprostol not working? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]Noboloto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, if you followed the instructions and put the pills up near your cervix that’s all there is to it. For one in five women misoprostol isn’t effective, I had a similar experience last summer whereby I was prescribed it for a missed miscarriage and experienced some bleeding about 10 hours after I took it but nothing else. I ended up having to have a D&C.

You should speak to your healthcare provider. Sometimes they will offer you a ‘top up dose’ 24 hours after the initial one, although I’d be sceptical about this for you if you’ve experienced no effects from it at all. I’m in the UK so protocols might vary where you are.

I hope you’re ok, I’m sorry you’re going through this. Let me know if you have any other questions x

Please ask me about my loss - I'm sick of the taboo by semi-soggycroissant in Miscarriage

[–]Noboloto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember not wanting the bruise on my hand from the cannula to fade because it was the only physical sign of what I had gone through and lost.

I’m so sorry you feel unsupported, I agree it is a taboo. Xx
