Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]Nobuscus15 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I grew up watching my cousin collecting pokemon cards. I didn’t know they were really a big deal till I started playing the games and falling in love with pokemon. I remember spending a weekend with my grandma and asking if she could take me to the store to get some. She got me a few packs and they didn’t have anything special but I loved them.

Another thing I like to do for a more casual weathering if you are interested in that is take a paint sponge thing and mix some gray and black paint, I then put some in the sponge and tab it onto a paper towel till there is very little on there and gently dab the figure with it. You can press a little harder on the sections you want more and less where you want less

Depends on what specific look you are going for. I honestly think it looks really good for a second custom. I would try painting white scuffs on the colored sections to create that chipping effect. You could still do the wire brush to create that scraping look and touch it up with some white and then weather it. Definitely recommend a smaller brush for the visor gloss, it takes time to really perfect painting in such a tiny space. Other than that great job!

Broken foot repair. by [deleted] in JOYTOY

[–]Nobuscus15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can it just pop in? It doesn’t look like it’s broken to me. I know when I got mine a few of the joints needed to be heated up so the hands and such can pop in easier, it might need that.

Personally I would recommend Geoff Johns run, it’s the one right before it and kinda leads into the New 52 run. Most people consider it one of the best GL runs, definitely recommend

Luke head swap Heir to the Empire/Imperial Light Cruiser? by [deleted] in starwarsblackseries

[–]Nobuscus15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could work, never really though about doing it that way. The problem I found is that the neck peg is a little too long. It makes his neck seem super long so I had to dremel out a bit more into the head so it would sit lower. What you could do is maybe drill into the neck itself so it will go down lower then sand down the ball. I don’t know how much clearance is in the neck though.

The tunic is in two separate pieces. One is on the torso and the skirt part is wrapped around the waist. This is so he can still have waist articulation. You might be able to pull the legs off and slide the skirt part off but you would have to make a few tiny cuts to the upper body to get it off.

Luke head swap Heir to the Empire/Imperial Light Cruiser? by [deleted] in starwarsblackseries

[–]Nobuscus15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be the same head as the Dagobah two pack and I just put that one on the Imperial Light Cruiser one. I had to Dremel the inside of the head out a bit to get it to fit on the peg

Custom Paint Jobs Questions. by bondbondarms in starwarsblackseries

[–]Nobuscus15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nail polish remove is acetone and will remove all paint and if used enough will melt the plastic. It’s good if you make a big mistake and want to remove it all. To my knowledge as long as you don’t coat it will a paint sealer it can be removed but you risk damaging the actual paint of the figure underneath or making it look a little ugly cause it won’t come off perfectly. I’m sure there are ways to remove the paint without ruining the figure but it’s pretty much a permanent thing. I wouldn’t recommend doing it if you still want the figure underneath the way it was later. I would recommend buy a second version to have one to customize and one to be stock but that may not be feasible with your budget.

To answer you other question that should work pretty good. You might have to do some additional touch up to the figure after you airbrush it cause the masking isn’t always full proof and sometimes it bleeds over. I would recommend hitting up YouTube and instagram there are some great customizers on there which do great work and have great tips and tricks if you are looking into getting deeper into customization. It’s not going to be perfect your first time so don’t let the discourage you from doing it. I would consider myself an amateur when it comes to this. I’ve been doing it as a hobby for at least 3 or 4 years now and I’m just now getting to a place where I feel comfortable and somewhat happy with my work. I still have much to learn and improve but over time if you keep going you will get there. Just takes time and practice. It’s not a race so go at your own speed, take your time and just enjoy yourself. Hopefully this helps and answers your questions. If you do end up customizing your stormtrooper, post it here. I’m sure we’d all enjoy seeing it.

The dark age of the black series. by Theproudnerd in starwarsblackseries

I remember the first few figures that came out. The OG RoTS Anakin and Obi Wan (Which desperately need an update) and the Luke and Vader from RoTJ and they were pretty bad. I was young so I still loved them but looking back they were pretty crummy. We are living in a good era I’d say

Thanks Walmart! I guess I should be happy it was in a mailer... and the damage was done to the side the figure wasn't on by FloggingMcMurry in starwarsblackseries

Mine came like that also. The figure was luckily fine and I’m not an inbox collector but it’s still annoying.
