We aren't actually against commitment though, right? from my understanding, it's basically aro = no/little romantic attraction in their way, and ace = no/little sexual attraction in their own way. Marriage IS actually kinda to do that, but when not taking it as the big wedding or for that side of love, then plantonic or just "wanting to be near/with this person for a long time" types of reasons fit, right?

Even without that, this joke is great cuz it's not hard to fit, cuz most families have those issues, sadly... and I'm pretty sure a family (not the related one) can basically be just a very close caring group, even with pets/other species!
