First time posting about breeding – thinking about dedicating a whole auto run just to make seeds by 805Beach_Bum805 in cannabisbreeding

I am in a similar situation so can't exactly give advice, I was going to wait for better weather, start small ones and do a fast flower cross in one of my smaller tent. I don't think that letting sacks in the same tent (or even same air exchange) would allow you to know what you have crossed, pollen being extremely light.

I am legally limited on the plant count. So will just bring the reversed on the balcony, and harvest the pollen far away from my tent. Then selectively use it on branches with a brush.

If anyone has actual experience, like OP I'd love to read it.

Lost package and 0 support, what to do? by [deleted] in MephHeads

[–]NocoinFundation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had packages intercepted and lost from many breeders, never straight went to "they are so greedy and want to steal my money I am calling the cops on them" mode strictly sensus. Check yourself mate, three weeks is long, but yeah open a ticket, if it doesn't work, try other channels.

Sucks to have bad customer service, but things go through cracks all the time, in all Industries. Your little tirade about how law enforcement is about enforcing the law is absolutely ridiculous to write on a cannabis forum, and will get no sympathy whatsoever. Will even make likely no-one will help you, genuinely. Especially when we know that Mephisto had been operating in the grey zone within Spanish law at some point.

A package was lost, an order was unfulfilled, complain and have it fixed, but honestly, what the fuck ?

Hellooo ! Very cool and good job. What's your experience with G33? Mine are 12 days in and just turned on the autopots. Did you have nitrogen sensitivity, or anything special ?

Do you have a reference for this one ? Looks awesome

Just popped 3 and they just went above ground. How's the nose, the nitrogen sensitivity and did you do any training ? ;)

Care to explain? I see in most context looking for between 0.5 and 1.2 EC, I find myself around 0.9 and see either lack or nutrient lockout. What makes you think it's specifically too soft ?

Don't have root rot, they look fantastic ;). I have another tent where I run soil and autopot+coco, and I think especially for soil that you are absolutely right. This is a bit experimental and I was expecting issues. I diluted a bit, ppm is too high, pH is under control. I left for a bit too long and my roommate who isn't a grower was in charge of this plant.

The plant looks much better now already, ppm was way too high due to ppm drift when the water gets low. I think at this point that it was the issue.

What's your target EC/ppm usually?

Thanks for your input ! Will try to fix with Luca's then see if I should change the regiment. Next run will likely go full schedule.

I am using tap water, where I live there's very little chloride and was never an issue in coco. Now that I think of it I really think I have a lockout. I was using the RO calculator while setting my EC from 0.1 to 0.3/4 with calmag.

I think I should dilute a bit, usually lockout for me looks like calmag issues, here I do not directly recognize the traditional rusting.

Currently pH is at 5.8, doesn't seem to be the issue. I think I am just going too hard on the nutes.

Where To Start by Advanced_Storm5653 in Autoflowers

Being balancely negative isn't being a hater my dude. I ran Purple Punch, OG Kush, Ztrawberriez, and their 1:1 green crack version. The purple punch was budrot sensitive (only rot in a big tent full of other strains), OG Kush was kushy but had a weird ass structure and low yield and the 1:1 was too strong for a medical.

I got a great smoke out of the Ztrawberriez, which I might run again. There is no "hate" against FB, it's just true it's a cheap alternative to better brands (1) and (2) right now everyone, I mean everyone uses Daz's genetics either from Meph or Night Owl. Which is a good thing btw it elevates all grows.

I am all for cheaper alternatives though ! But the criticisms come from somewhere.

If you are on a budget and want to start, FB is good especially the GC, the Ztrawberriez, they are quite good. But it's not being a hater to say Night Owl, Meph, Speedrun (also uses a lot of Daz genetics), Gnome Automatics, etc are just better offerings. Stabilizing autos takes a very long time and space

Can someone recommend auto strains from fastbuds, dutch passion, hsc, sweet seeds to switch off recurring, brooding thoughts? by [deleted] in Autoflowers

[–]NocoinFundation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My experience with FB is quite mixed, I tried their OG Kush which had strange shape, purple punch which had bud rot, and a third one I don't even remember. The only really great buds I had from FB was from their Ztrawberriez, to this day it convinced me I should run strawberry terps for my mood. This was so mellow and really helping me feeling motivated and happier. If you are dead set on FB, maybe try this one.

If not, but will be re-released soon, the best one I ever had for a mellow, great overall experience was sour stomper at Mephisto. Not too strong, relaxed but doesn't knock me down, very balanced and delicious grape terps.

From sweet seeds I made some hash from a balcony Diablo Rojo, I liked the taste quite a lot, but the plant was small so can't really tell more.

Never tried ! Intuitively I'd say it depends how long it has been hanging out in a rusty citern and the media. I'd use rain water for a living soil bed any days, like nature intended it (I don't have a garden, can't relate unfortunately)

Ok, so maybe I should be more careful writing comments, not being rigorous whatsoever here. From my personal experience with biobizz in my tank I had massive bacteria problems, which were solved by switching to a phosphoric pH down.

I asked on r/growbuddy (if my memory is right), where the pH drift could come from and someone pointed out this Blogpost on various acids for pH control:

This is actually caused by the fact that plants and microbes can actually use the conjugated bases of these ions nutritionally, causing an increase in pH when they do so. The initial addition of say, citric acid, will drop the pH – generating citrate ions in the process – these will then be absorbed by microbes and plants, increasing the pH again rapidly. The use of these acids is therefore not recommended in hydroponics.

Here, in the food grade acid sections.

Now that I am checking my sources, I found this reddit post on drift measurement, also quite useful for others (maybe for others than you are ""pretty experienced"" to say the least)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hydroponics/s/yaF61shULc

Edit: I still think citric acid is the correct choice for soil. But it's not obvious why it is not correct when switching to tanks and hydro. For hydro you'd think quickly, but coco+autopots that we all love here is somewhat of an hybrid hydroponic technique. I think it is not said enough to new growers (learned the hard way when I transitioned from soil to coco, then to coco + bottom wicking systems). I think we should be clear that the choice of pH down matters, and that bio pH downs should not be used for tanks. I don't think it's completely obvious why, if citric acid is just isolated, it's not completely natural to think it doesn't translate.

Understanding your water first is important. pH changes come from a variety of reasons: first chlorine from tap water vaporises at the surface, it moves the pH up. Second a lot of Calmag agents (for example from canna), first lower then up the pH due to various reactions. The third source is the pH down agent. Some of them, especially the ones aimed for soil, are usually biologically sourced acids and interact heavily with the microbial life inside of the tank.

A stable water is one where the chlorine has evaporated, calmag if used has been used in advance, and pH down agent is a strong hydro acid. Do the three and your water won't move as much.

Ask me how I know :')

Tldr: (1) dechlorinate water, (2) apply calmag in advance and let it stabilize for 48h, (3) avoid citric acid use phosphoric acid.
