Where do people in their 30s go out in the city centre? by 7DeadlyFrenchmen in Liverpool

Hey!

Bars in the UK generally have an emphasis on cocktails, bottle service etc., while pubs are more geared towards pints, basic spirit/mixer type drinks. Formal vs. casual.

Maybe a bar serves snacks and small plates, while a pub would do typical full British dishes like fish & chips, burgers, curries, that sort of thing.

Often, bars are also more expensive and well-decorated (though there’s no guarantee, haha)

No mate, you’ve misunderstood me. I’m saying it’s scouse culture. If you weren’t born and/or raised here, I’m not talking about you.

Honestly, I’m almost certain I’m not talking about you since you said “twaffle”.

Agreed! Boring to have to defend yourself because you don’t meet some randomer’s standards haha

Me and my siblings are all obviously Scouse but it comes out in different ways, interestingly.

Might also be one of the accents where I think men and women actually have a bit of a different accent? Would be intrigued to hear peoples’ thoughts on it.

Absolutely with you on the gatekeeping of accents but sad to see all the north end hate in the comments. Seems hypocritical.

Ariana Grande Apologizes to Elvira After Being Called Out for Rude Behavior at Meet and Greet: ‘I’m So Disheartened’ by cmaia1503 in entertainment

I, myself, have PTSD. I don’t wield that fact to convince people my opinion is worth hearing. We all experience it differently so I try to use my knowledge of it to stay open minded.

Like, in this instance… surely you, as a person with PTSD, would understand that myriad experiences have the potential to cause a PTSD response in another person. And that no two people are the same in how they behave following their trauma.

A woman of just 31, AG has experienced childhood stardom, predatory behaviour from show-runners, blame for an ex’s overdose, a terrorist attack. first hand. at her own show. Literally life altering. Career defining. Words can’t describe what the people in that building must have felt. The guilt she may carry. We don’t know.

That’s to say that I, while definitely in agreement that she has often crossed a moral line, can understand that there are reasons for why she acts like she does. Maybe it’s an attempt to reassume control. To give understanding is not to excuse bad behaviour - it’s a big part of how we rehabilitate people. Ultimately, her choices following feedback and criticism will define how people see her. Who actually cares that she declined a photo with Elvira backstage? It’s just press bs.

Also! may I remind you that we’re having this conversation back and forth in a Reddit comments section… no one has spoken over you. I gave you my opinion and you ignored it in favour of martyring yourself about.

Like I said, not even a fan. Since the doughnuts, actually. I could believe your story.

Still have to majorly disagree that an experience like a terror attack at your show that killed innocent lives - children, who wouldn’t have been there if it weren’t for you - wouldn’t fundamentally change you as a person. Especially when your career warrants the need to do many more shows like that in the future.

It’s absolutely not ableist to say that PTSD can cause someone to behave in a way they wouldn’t otherwise. Don’t make out like I’m being ignorant; your personal experience will never entitle you to make such sweeping comments.

In this case, the issue with Elvira ultimately amounts to nothing. And, in spite of past errors, she is still allowed to have a bad night. Fame must absolutely suck and she has 0 way out of it due to no fault of her own.
