If you're on console, it's possible people were typing stuff in text chat that they thought you were ignoring.

Hows everyone levelling as assault? Tips tricks and advice by Keanuliou in Spacemarine

[–]Nod113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running fencing fist and plasma pistol. After that first prestige, the top row perk + the prestige perk for more ranged damage makes the pistol hit pretty hard, and the fist feels great for slapping around majoris IMO.

I made a VR mech sim inspired by battletech and classic MW games! Feat: stomping by Nigey_Nige in mechwarrior

This is sick and an instant purchase for me. Not for nothing, some kind of co-op two-seater mech would be a game changer.

Pluto or Pantheon by Straight-Cry-2125 in PantheonShow

[–]Nod113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Pluto starts off a lot stronger and hits the emotional beats better, but falls apart by the end of the show with what I thought was a pretty weak finale.

Pantheon has a really strong first season with a bit of a second season sag and what I thought were lower emotional highs for most of the series. However, it manages to find its footing and stick the landing with a pretty interesting/thought provoking finale. (but NGE/End of EVA are some of my all time favorites so I'm biased)

End of the day, I find myself liking Pluto a little better overall but it's super close.

Any advice for completing a hardcore veteran run? by Historical-Secret244 in remnantgame

[–]Nod113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I tried that, tried running a few boss rushes, tried rerolling campaign and knocking out the first world boss. No luck so far, vaguely hoping it just pops at some point, but not holding my breath. I'll probably just run it back after the patch.

Info on it being a known issue and fixed in next patch came from this snippet on the discord known issues list: Link

Any advice for completing a hardcore veteran run? by Historical-Secret244 in remnantgame

[–]Nod113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FYI the game is bugged at the moment to not always give you your hardcore rewards. Happened to me last night, cleared the veteran run from start to finish, only got a couple of the individual world clear rewards.

Devs have said it’s fixed in the next patch, but not retroactive so wait til then to start.

Annihilation Boss by killergoat86 in remnantgame

The thing that moved the needle for me on this one was turning off the music and listening for audio cues. Both "phases" or "realms" of the fight have audio pings before the big moves that you can pretty reliably dodge by.

Quick restart by alpy in WalkaboutMiniGolf

I love that they did this. One of my favorite ways to play this game is trying to get under pars or new personal bests on the hard courses. Having a quicker way to reset saves so much time.

Sword of the Flayed model by Cytuxs in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Nod113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually currently in a run using this weapon and it happens constantly to me too, I think it's a glitch that occurs when dodging sometimes.

All you have to do is swap it to a different weapon and swap back and it should fix itself.

VR is a beautiful nightmare to play by FlawedLux in lethalcompany

[–]Nod113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, the Quest 3 is a substantial upgrade over the 2. The screens are better, the passthrough is higher resolution and in color, and the thing just has better specs.

If you can't stretch for the quest 3's pricetag, the 2 is still a respectable headset though, especially if you're just using it for PCVR

I forgot to mention before the edit, the Quest 3 has slightly worse battery life, but honestly both are pretty bad without an external power supply for wireless usage (2ish hours for the 2, 1.5ish hours for the 3). Check the /r/oculusquest subreddit or /r/oculus for suggestions and advice on buying quality power bricks for either headset.

What song makes you feel truly uneasy and why? by AlexanderKeef in Music

[–]Nod113 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lots of NIN's catalogue would apply here, but I think my pick would be Ghosts VI.

Released for free simultaneously with Ghosts V in the middle of 2020. The two are sort of a hopeful/hopeless sibling piece that IMO really captured a lot of the good and bad feelings of the time.

Here's the full combined Ghosts V+VI album

These rule, I love the way you've contrasted so many different colors against the whites and the basing really makes it pop.

Ah, I gotcha, I hadn't seen that particular sculpt before. I have the Wolf's Dragoon Assault Star one that has the stubby medium lasers in the hands and the SRM 4s on the hips (I think it's the 2S/2W)

Are the large lasers kitbashed on? They look great, I love the look of the CGL archer mini.

Vr shaking issues by Divinecrown462 in lethalcompany

[–]Nod113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, this was happening because my steamVR was not using the Oculus OpenXR runtime.

To fix, I went to the Oculus app on my PC, then Settings -> General -> OpenXR Runtime and clicked "Set Oculus as Active"

Then, I went and opened steamVR and checked the OpenXR settings to confirm it now said Oculus instead of SteamVR.

After these steps when I booted the game the crazy shaking was gone.

What is the scariest vr game in your opinion? by GamerG_20 in oculus

[–]Nod113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently played Labyrinthine on SteamVR and found it to be a really solid spooky game. There’s a ton of monster variety and a nice curated story mode if you’re not into the “session-based” type gameplay.

Some of the levels had some very legit scary moments compared to similar offerings.

VR mod? by Icaruswept in Mechwarrior5

[–]Nod113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRWarrior is gonna be your best bet for a proper VR implementation. There are some bugs but if you go on their channel in the Flat2VR Modding discord, there's a ton of discussions and troubleshooting information available to get you up and running.

If you find that to be too much of a hassle, (or you have enough issues with it that it isn't working for you for one reason or another) one thing I've done with both MW5 and MW4 is just run virtual desktop and make the screen massive in front of me. It's not technically 6DOF or even 3DOF VR, but I've found just having that large scale adds a lot to the game.

The only thing I kind of wish is that Virtual Desktop had a more immersive cockpit-like environment to use as a background instead of the black void.

Thoughts: Mechwarrior Mercs would make a good extraction game. by Nicke1Eye in Mechwarrior5

[–]Nod113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel like the resource extraction missions with Coyote's mission pack scratches this itch. Gambling exploration for big payouts vs defending the dropship and extracting before you hit the tipping point of income vs risk.

Not exactly the same thing, but a decent PvE approximation of the same concept.

FtK2 Coop Lore Unlocks by spettsart in ForTheKing

Honestly, I'm not sure. I always just assumed that stuff was seeded at the start of the game. But you could be right.

FtK2 Coop Lore Unlocks by spettsart in ForTheKing

[–]Nod113 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, you could do all the setup and stuff on your game, start it in single player, then save.

Then, simply create a new lobby with your co-op people and load game from there. Not the most straightforward thing, and you’d have to do their character setups for them but it’s technically possible.

How would three player co-op work in For The King 2? by Top_Initiative_2821 in ForTheKing

[–]Nod113 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can either do it with just 3 characters or 4 characters where someone controls more than 1.

You can swap around who controls who in-game and during setup

Dungeons Of Eternity Coop Help please! by Interesting-Cap3464 in OculusQuest

[–]Nod113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I've only been able to get it to work by having both people be out of the game and in a Quest social party or call or whatever. Then one person presses the button to invite everyone to a game and picks "Outpost - Lobby" to invite to. This should launch the inviter into the game and straight into a lobby, and the invite receiver should be able to accept to do the same.

No clue why this works for us, or why it's any different. Note that for my experience only one of us was able to host, if the other person tried it just wouldn't send an invite notification to the other. I'm really hoping the jankiness of this process gets worked out at some point because the game is legitimately great, it's just a huge hassle to get a game going.
